We are staying at AoA in October, in the Little Mermaid area :cool1: couple of questions....

Has anybody used the laundry area? how much is it to use the washers and dryers?

Can you cash traveller's cheques at the reception?

Can you see Epcot fireworks from the grounds?

I'm sure I will have more questions before we go.

:goodvibes

I had a look around AoA (well the two sections that were open) last trip, its very vibrant and looks great for kids :)

Washers cost $2 and dryers are also $2 per cycle on other Disney hotels so I would think that would also be the cost at AoA.

I've stayed at Pop twice before and we could see Epcot's fireworks in the distance from the top floor of the 50's block, which is just across Hourglass Lake from AoA. So depending on which block you are staying in you may be able to see the fireworks from AoA too, I'm sure someone will be able to confirm this.

Not sure about TC as haven't taken these since 2005 - if you buy something small and give over a say a $50 TC we were given change in cash, but that was ages ago, things have probably changed :)

Fewer and fewer places in WDW now cash travellers cheques but on our last trip the hotels still did. It may change soon though!

we looked around AoA last time when the Little Mermaid section had opened. Fantastic theming, especially like the Cars section. The food court was also excellent.

You can still use T/Chqs in $ like you use cash at WDW but it is getting a tad harder to use them everywhere else ie the Malls. On the whole you're ok with T/Chq off resort but you'll need your passport in a lot of places. You might be better off looking at a cash card instead if you plan to go off resort and shop:goodvibes

We took both last time (just in case) but had no probs with T/chqs on resort but are sticking to a cash card from now on.

thanks for the advise we had the card last time but i thought it was a pain keeping a note of spends, might take T/chqs and just cash them in a the reception every couple days.
