Art of Animation or Saratoga Springs with kids?

My parents are going to be down in Orlando and staying off property for a week in September to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary and my sister and I decided to surprise them by coming down and meeting them for the last 2 days of their trip.

The plan is to surprise them at their Brunch at CG (if we can get a similar reservation time) and then to spend the day at our hotel with them before taking the kiddos to MNSSHP part that night and then meeting back up with them for a full day at MK.

I have a reservation at AOA right now because the boys are 5 and 2 but thought this morning that if we could get a hotel in the loop or at least closer to MK it might be worth it. I wanted to rent points if that was the case and when I had someone check the only DVC rentals were in Saratoga Springs. Is there any major selling point to taking it and letting go of AOA given our plans and super fast and all Magic Kingdom based?

following this thread, we are going in 2019 and as of now it will be a party of 5 where everyone is over 13 years old... thanks!!

Neither AoA nor SSR give you any advantage for getting back and forth to MK. Especially if taking young children to MNSSHP, I would highly recommend pricing out WL, CCV, BRV and the CR garden wing rooms paying cash if DVC rental isn't an option at CCV, BLT or BRV.
