Hi Everyone!

We are finally booking a new trip to Disney :)

We haven't been since 2019 and we are soo excited to take our new little princess (age 2) on her first trip next Nov. I am currently looking at Pop & the Little Mermaid rooms at Art of Animation. We have stayed at Pop before so we are familiar with the resort, but we have never tried Art of Animation. I would love to hear your opinions. I've heard that its a long walk to the Little Mermaid rooms. We have stayed at Coronado Springs before so we are used to a large resort and some walking. Would anyone says its comparable to the walking at Coronado? Our daughters will be 2 & 6 when we go next November.

Thanks :)

I think the advantage to Pop would be the rooms have been more recently refurbished than the little mermaid rooms at AoA.

I thought of that too..we stayed at pop in 2018 after they were done.

It's a much longer walk to Disney Transportation from the Little Mermaid Rooms than most/all of the rooms at Pop. I'm not sure if you'll have your own vehicle or if the extra walk will make a difference.

Thank you for your response. Would you say it’s comparable to the walk at Coronado? We have stayed there before across the bridge.

You're welcome. I haven't stayed at AoA or Coronado. I typically use TouringPlans or Google maps to gauge walks. AoA may be around the same or maybe shorter than Coronado.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I understand the beds are POP are queens and the ones in the little mermaid rooms are full/double.

The beds in the LM rooms are queens. We stayed there January 2020 and loved it. Are your little ones mermaid fans? If so, it's a no-brainer. You can pose for pictures with pirate treasure, dancing sea creatures, and Triton, Ursula, and Ariel are looking on the whole area.
Yes, it's a longer walk than to the AoA family suites, but it's a pleasant walk through Finding Nemo and Lion King figures and music and then you're Under the Sea. I have plantar fasciitis and thought it was fine.
As for transport, you only need the front for buses to AK and MK (or your own car, which could be parked closer, or go to the front for Lyft). You take Skyliner to Epcot and DHS, and that is a not-long scenic walk along the waterway. (Don't do the long way back to Landscape of Flavors and then to Skyliner.)
I recommend AoA for anyone who likes the hyper-themed Legoland Hotels, which are my family's faves.

The Pop Century rooms were renovated in 2017-18. Art of Animation's last renovation, including the Little Mermaid rooms, ended in 2020.

I think these concerns about the walk are a little dramatic. It's not THAT far, and it's actually closer to the Skyliner.

I would pick Little Mermaid and skyliner over Coronado all day every day. I would even pay more for it.

I'm glad to read this. We are staying there in a few weeks and reading all these posts had me thinking we were so far! We've done CBR and CSR and both are huge, so I'm excited for this.
