we're staying at the Art of Animation, lion king suite in April. Has anyone stayed there before and know if all the rooms are close to the transportation and restaurant? I can't tell by looking at the map how far away they are. Is there a specific block,of rooms I should ask for to get closest?

The suites are all pretty centralized around the main building: some buildings within the suites are closer than others. The Little Mermaid rooms are nonsuites and are the furthest away on the property.

The Lion King Suites were the furthest away from the food court and pool, if I recall. Finding Nemo is the closest. We stayed in the Cars area which was perfect for us it's not so close to the main pool to be noisy, but it's close to the food court and bus stop. I loved it there.

I've stayed in the Lion King Suites and didn't find the walk from my room to the food court/buses to be long. I stayed in Building 10 when I went and I had an amazing time! I loved all the photo ops! You're going to love the Lion King Suite!:simba:

I've stayed in Nemo, Cars, and Little Mermaid but have been there often and the walk from the Lion King suites is not bad at all. As said above, it can be a little daunting to get to the Mermaid suites, but other than that your exposure isn't too bad. It is an awesome resort and you will have a great time there.

We stayed in the Little Mermaid section and found the walk to be absolutely fine. Some people told us it was a long way and not to stay there but it is really not far. I guess it is all relevant as to what you see as a long distance.
We enjoyed the chance to wind down after a day in the parks on the walk back to our room, and the fact that it was so quiet and peaceful there.

I stayed in a Finding Nemo suite with 5 of my friends last spring. We had a lot of space in the room, even with the max limit. The Nemo suites were great since they were the closest to everything, but the area was also pretty busy. When we were there, we spent a lot of time in the Cars section at their pool, as it was nice and quiet, and still close to everything. I would want to stay there next time. LK rooms are about the same distance, as the Cars section, but just don't have their own pool.

We just left today! Nowhere is a long walk. The LK is further, but no biggie. We stayed in Cars bldg 3 with a lake view. It was quiet (not on top of the Nemo pool) but still very central.

I would certainly stay where your kids will enjoy the most at this resort. It is not a sprawling place in general. It was also very quiet in general. I did not hear neighbors or hall noise much.

We've stayed in a LK suite twice. They're *very* convenient to the Food court and bus stops as those things are both at the end of Animation Hall closest to the LK rooms. And it's a quick walk to either the Nemo or Little Mermaid pools. I always request "close to transportation" when doing online check in. Our LK rooms were both less than 100 yards from the back door of the food court. The food court, pool, and transportation will all be less than a 5 minute walk from the time you walk out of your door. And if you're at the end of the LK buildings closest to Animation Hall, it will be more like 3 minutes. Just for reference, the farthest distance from a LK room to the food court is about 235 yards; for Nemo to food court, the longest distance is about 260 yards; and for Cars it's about 420. Personally, I think LK in general is the best location.

We stayed in building 3 also - with the lake view. So peaceful!

If you look at the map the Lion King suites are no farther than any other suite and it will depend on your room location.
I actually would enjoy a lake view and that walk is not bad.
Toured the LK Suites and I thought the location was fine, and I would actually prefer to not be near the main pool aka noise.

I love AOA! We have stayed twice. I really liked the LK suite better than Nemo. It wasn't far from the main lobby and we stayed on the top floor facing the lake and saw fireworks each night.

we are staying there this summer..... In the Cars section : )

We stayed in Building 6, 2nd floor facing the lake. We found it very easy to get to the food court, gift shop and bus stop very easily. Parking lot was close for easy access when checking in and out. We loved staying in LK, as it was my DD favorite movie when she was little. She is now a married woman with a little 1 year old boy.. We are looking forward to our 1st trip that includes him. In my opinion its a great spot.

That's a really nice area! From what I remember (I haven't stayed there since 2012), it has a lot of shade and beautiful greenery. Anyway, it is closer to the bus stops than the food court, but still not far at all. Can't help with a block or rooms to request, but you're gonna have a great time! My family of 5 stayed in a Car's suite and we loved the space.

The LK suites are not far at all. For comparison, we stayed in literally the farthest room in Cars building #2 (last room on the hall), and we were a 4-5 minute walk to Animation Hall while pushing a wheelchair at a leisurely rate. The farthest LK room would be about the same.
