I would also have her start forming her Portfolio and attend National Portfolio Day near you ~ tons of Art Schools are there and their Reps/Recruiters can offer valuable advice. Plus she will see her peers work (while waiting in line to speak with each school)and hear critiques of their work. It's one of the first steps of checking the ego at the door and realizing the competition out there.

That was my first thought as well. My brother went there, way back when. Dd, 23, has a very good friend who graduated from MassArt last spring and is now getting her Masters out west someplace. She is heavily into ceramics/pottery. My sister-in-law used to own an art gallery. It is very hard to get shown in the larger galleries, but smaller ones might be okay. Taking a minor in something more tangible might be a good idea...not that my dd listened to me. She has a degree in theater, minor in English Lit! Yeah, that's usable!!
