Arriving Sunday of January Marathon weekend

Looking at booking a Sun-Fri stay Jan 12-17. I realize that we would be arriving at lunchtime on the Sunday of a marathon weekend, but hoping for low crowd levels during the week. Am I being reasonable?

Yes - after the marathon, you may see slight crowds on Monday, but after that, it is good for a few days, until that Friday which begins MLK weekend. We have been there twice during marathon time and it is great! I believe on that Sunday, there is a party at Disney Springs for all the runners?? Not sure if there will be in 2020, but if so, just plan on doing Disney Springs on another night.

Weather wise - it could be anything!! So pack accordingly!

The marathon rarely impacts park crowds. Resort availability, yes. But park crowds, no. The marathon (any race, really) does tend to play havoc with transportation as many portions of the races are along WDW roadways. BUT the races start very early (5am for the January marathon, I believe) and are finished by mid morning. If you're arriving noonish, the race will be over and any impact from it will be minimal for you.

There may be a slight uptick in crowds on Monday, but it shouldn't be particularly noticeable as most of the runners will leave Sunday night or Monday morning.

Thanks for the replies. It sounds like we wouldn't be impacted much, if at all, as we'll be at WBC with our own car.
