We are flying in on xmas day prob around 5 or 6. First off does anyone know if the rental car agencies in the airport will be open?

Then we obviously are going to need to eat dinner and since we are staying in a timeshare wanted to get groceries but will anything be open???

I never even thought about that but I know here where we live other than fast food and maybe convenience stores nothing is open.

you will find almost everything opened. Only smaller stores would close.
I've lived in Orlando for 18 years and so I'm used to everything being opened all the time. We went to the Smoky Mountains on vacation one Christmas and were driving back home Christmas Day and was s surprised about everything being closed, we were so hungry. Finally found a Waffle House opened but they only took cash :D

Oh good. WHEW! I was hoping since it was such a tourist area. I went ahead and made a reservation for dinner at DTD just in case cuz I figured they would be open but so glad to know this. Thanks!!!

Surprisingly, when we drive across the state on Christmas day we run into most things closed, like grocery stores, even McDonalds closes half the day. Convenience stores will be open, to get a few things. Save your big shop until 12-26.

Our Christmas Tradition is always a movie @ Disney Springs and then Dinner @ TGIFridays over at Crissroads

We arrived on Easter Day this year. There was one grocery store open, I believe it was a WalMart (but can't recall clearly). It was packed. I mean, can't find a parking spot-packed. We went in, grabbed the couple things we needed, and got the heck out of dodge. Echoing a PP, I'd recommend waiting to shop, even if you can find one store open. . .

The Gooding's store at Crossroads will probably be open. They are open 24 hours and I think that includes all holidays. Not my top choice for shopping, as they cost more than a trip to Publix, but in a pinch, it'll do.

Yea we prefer Publix but we have shopped at goodings. WE just need waters and stuff for breakfast. i would wait till the 26th but that is our first park day. If the parks open at 9 I was figuring be at the lots by 8 to be at the gate at 8:30 but I suppose we could get up and shop at 7. Otherwise it would be pretty late when we leave but I guess we will play it by ear. Thanks so much everyone!!!

If history is any indicator it is likely that the MK, at least, will open at either 7 AM or 8 AM on the 26th

Oh wow so the hours that are MDE are going to change then? Makes sense. That's why I was hoping we could get stuff on the 25th. UGH

Hours for December will probably change several times between now and your trip. They even change same day sometimes.

Wow that's good to know. So how do you make fp?? Just make them for after 9 and do something else lol

The parks typically open at 7am the week between Christmas and New Years. It is *the* most crowded week of the year.

Yea I figured. UGH. I knew it was going to be super crowded. Stinks but is what it is. My girls are in HS and they can't miss any school. My ideal time is Oct or early november but since we are from CA we always want bare min 6 days and 1 dtd and a few days at universal. We get to go so seldom we don't want to go all the way back there and not be able to see everything. I was hesitant about that week and KNEW it would be bad. We are from CA and DL is the same way but we will just do the best we can.

If you only need a few things, shop at a convenience store on Christmas.

Have you considered shipping a box to your resort or ordering a grocery delivery? Just the basics to cover you that first night and morning until you can get to a store.

Publix will not be open on Christmas. They are very big on giving their employees the big holidays with their families. You should be able to find a Wal-Mart or Other supermarket. I doubt you'll have trouble finding a restaurant to eat at.

Thanks I went ahead and made a ressie at DTD so now if we can just find a store we'll be good. :)
