My 2 ds (9 & 11) will be arriving at mco 12:30AM the night before (no the day of) our wdw vacation. Should we just stay in the hyatt in the airport for $112.00 (internet special) or try to find a airport hotel with 24 hr shuttle for less $. I'm leaning toward the hyatt because I don't think I want to drag the boys around that late. has anyone arrived this late and what did you do?
thanks for any help.

P.S. got a great airfare from hotwire, that's why we're arriving sooooo late.

I've heard that some shuttles do not run 24 hours, so you would need to find a hotel that would come & get you at that time.

Are you staying onsite the next night? How are you getting to your Disney hotel? I know it's a longer ride, but maybe you could go to the all stars that night. If you are staying at another disney hotel for the rest of your trip they will transfer your luggage for you. Just a thought.

The hyatt is probably worth the money, given the convenience :)

We've gotten in late like that before, and the place was pretty deserted. We were picked up by my parents who live in the Orlando area. Unless money is a major issue, I would personally go with the Hyatt in the airport. I haven't stayed there but have heard that it's great. Your rate sounds very good too.

The sooner you're able to get the kids (and yourself) in bed, the less tired and frazzled you'll be the next day. I like to save as much money as possible, but I'm a firm believer in weighing the "hassle factor" against the money. On the other hand, my mother would never think twice, she'd head off to a cheaper hotel! LOL

Either way, I hope you have a great trip!

Hi we're on a late flight into MCO from the UK via Detroit, arriving the same time as yours is. I looked at staying at the Hyatt and saw the Internet deal at $112 but as it was for only a few hours (the time difference will wake us up early!) I decided to go with Priceline and got the Holiday Inn Select at MCo for a very reasonable rate.

The Holiday Inn is only a one mile taxi journey and so that didn't seem too bad.....after 5000 miles what's another 1 mile!? :)

Hi Tracie
If it's just a hotel you want for a few hours sleep, as we do,we found a Howard Johnson McCoy Road for $40.00, with an airport shuttle running untill 2am. www.hojo.com. We have stayed in other Howard Johnson Hotels, (not in FLorida ) while basic were clean and comfortable.

Thanks for all of your help, my ds voted for the hojo, so they can have the extra $ for disney. Thanks again

Hi again

Looks like we are arriving in MCO at the same time on the same day...we are flying 7th June from Gatwick to Detroit then down to Orlando arriving 12.30 am 8th June.

It's myself, my partner and our two daughters...apart from a holiday it's our wedding trip, we're getting married in Clearwater on the 19th June.

We are in the same situation. I got the Airport Marriott (3*) on Priceline for $40. They have 24-hour airport shuttle service, which seems like the way to go at that time in the night/morning. Then the next day I'll take the shuttle back to the airport to pick up the rental car. Seems like a great deal to me!

Thanks for all your help I found the comfort suites airport for $39 for queen suite and though they don't have 24hr shuttle they said they do have a car to pick up late arrivals FREE:D
