SR 528 west bound -- the road to the airport -- is closed due to an accident. Everything is being route OFF 528 at SR 520

the alternates add SIGNIFICANTLY to travel time

I feel for the disembarking cruisers that will have to deal with this. This is also the reason it's recommended you don't book flights before 11:30. Too many things can happen that will slow your trip back to the airport. I hope the accident is cleared quickly and my prayers are with the victims of the accident. I hope all are okay.

Per Orlando news channels, this is a vehicle accident involving a death at one of the toll plazas on the 528 west-bound. The estimated reopening time is @08:30.

at 9am local news reported they hoped to open one lane "soon"

I encountered this heading to the airport once .. added 90 minutes to my normal 45 minute drive time. Even tho when I left the house I had PLENTY of time, only TSA pre, carry on only and paying for the close expensive car parking got me to the flight with 2 minutes to spare!
