Arriving at CR at noon - what do we do that day?

My daughter and I will be arriving at the Contemporary for our first trip to WDW in early April (her spring break). Barring any delays, we should be at the hotel by lunch time. What are some ideas for how to spend that first afternoon at WDW? We are only there for 3 full days - we leave Friday morning - so I want to make the most of our time, but I don't want to cram so much in that we don't enjoy ourselves. Thanks!

It depends on what type of passes you have. if you have UPH's then I would head right over to the MK and spend the rest of the day there. Then come back for a late dinner at Chef Mickey's. If you have regular park hoppers and don't want to waste a day on them, then I would take a ride on the monorail and then do either Hop Dee Doo or the luau at the poly. for dinner. You could also watch wishes and or the water pagent before bedtime. I for one would not worry about wearing yourself out. On a 3 day trip, I would just go for it, and rest when I got home. Have Fun!:earsboy: :wave2:

There's no way you'll be able to see and do everything in three days. So pick and choose what you want do at each park and concintrate on those first. For dinner that first night, you could go to the GF 1900 Park Fair, Poly's Ohana's, or Cheif Mickey's at CR. You also could stay in the MK park and eat at LTT or Cindy's Royal Table in the castle, and watch "Wishs" there. The next morning I would suggest a character breakfast at the Crystal Palace early, 8:30 or so, and have your picture taken on Main Street with no people around. Its quite unusual verses the usual ones taken with Main Street full of people! Anyway, have a great time.

My dad and I took my 2 yr old son last month. We were there 3 days too (got the 4 day park hopper). We arrived at the CR (loved it by the way-especially with a 2 yr old) around lunch time and were able to check in. We got our stuff to the room (valet will bring it, even if youre in the garden wings), then headed to the cafe (next to the front desk) for a quick bite (the arcade is right there too). We then hopped a bus to MGM. With a 2 yr old, there was a whole lot to do there with him. We bought some items, then headed to a few shows, met some characters, saw the parade, then headed over to get seats for Fantasmic and a bite to eat. For us it was a relaxing way to start the Disney crawl and ease my son into things. We hit the MK the next day (that was a long day even with a break), and AK and Epcot the last day. The morning we left, we did Chef Mickeys which my son loved. By then he had warmed up to several characters and could handle meeting them. He played hand tag with Pluto, pulled up Minnie's dress, bopped Dale on the head, and kissed Mickey goodbye. What a great end to a great trip! Hope you have fun too!

OK, if you have 3 FULL days, then I'm assuming your arrival day doesn't count. You should check out the monorail resorts, DTD, or a water park. Get to bed early, and plan to hit an EMH hour each day of your visit. Have fun, and Welcome to the Dis:earsboy:

How old is your daughter? You could go and do Disney Quest at DTD. Go play mini golf. Shop at DTD. Swim at the pool at CR. Go horseback riding, or check out the petting zoo at FW.

My daughter is 6 years old.
Someone above suggested heading to a water park. Is this a good time to do that (again, we arrive at CR around noon)? It sounds like a good idea, but I also heard the week before Easter is pretty crowded. It's so great to be able to get all of these suggestions!!!
