Does anyone have suggestions on what to do on the day you arrive at your hotel? We are arriving about 11:00 am and were thinking of things to do. We are staying at the sheraton vistana.

We always spend our first afternoon/evening at DTD. We shop and eat dinner. We like to get to bed early so we can make the most of our first park day.

You could visit DTD and Disney Quest, try some mini golf, resort hop, pick a nice place to eat. There should be alot of stuff to do on arrival day.

Our family usually books our Hoop - Dee - Doo dinner show for our first night or we wander around the hotels or DTD. That is if we don't have length of stay passes or an AP.

Dinner at "Chef Mickey" at the Contemporary Resort sets the tone nicely. Be sure to catch the fireworks from the 15th floor observation deck!

Agree with all of the above. Take the day to get acclimated to your resort, stock your fridge and then head over to either Boardwalk or DTD for dinner/shopping. If you headed right out, a visit to either Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach would work as well.

You are going to have an awesome stay, we LOVE Vistana!!! Anyhow, I would contact Vistana and have them do your shopping for you (they do that!) and that way you can just drop your stuff and head to Blizzard Beach OR mini golf at the Winter/Summerland in front of Blizzard Beach, two fun courses. And never underestimate the Disney resorts. They have so much to do, especially The Boardwalk. At night I'd go to Spoodles for dinner at the Boardwalk then to Jellyrolls (21+) it's a blast! Good luck :)

we were planning on doing chef Mickeys the 1st night we are there since we can't check into out hotel until 3pm. If we go to Chef Mickeys at the contemporary are we allowed to go on the observation deck to see the fire works? Or do you have to be a guest. and one more questions what time does the Fire works start incase we can go up the the deck I want to figure out when I should make the Chef Mickey reservations

Thanks So much!!

We are arriving at about the same time for our trip. I am planning on a light lunch at the Grand Floridian Tea. We will then either go to DTD or hang around the resort. For dinner, it will be our traditional first night dinner at Chef Mickey's and a loop around the monorail.

Enjoy your trip!!

We are going to have dinner at 1900 Park Fare and then aroud nine watch the electric water parade. It can be viewed from any of the MK resorts. And best of all, it's free!

we also arrive in Disney around 11am. Your right you cannot check in until 3pm but they will hold all your luggage for you so if you have anual pass or tickets for that day you can still use them and won't have to lug your stuff around. Also when we arrive will have a car so we will use the locker rooms at the pool to change into bathing suits. Visit the pool. We are then taking the boat to Ft Wilderness?Pioneer Hall for take out buffet will eat at a picnic table or on a blanket if necessary then visiting the petting Zoo close to the hall and then attending there evening sing a long campfire at 7pm. This will make for an early evening to prepare us for an early start.

We usually arrive about 1:00 p.m. and our gang hits the pool till about 4 then we shower and head off to a Priority Seating at Chef Mickey's for dinner. You get to see characters right off the bat!
We have also gone to Cape May clam bake on our first night then took a walk on the boardwalk and took in all of the sights.

An early bed time is a must! You want to start your first day off right and be at the parks at opening!:sunny:

Thanks to everyone ! I got some really good ideas about what to do on our arrival day!

Tour the resort and go for a swim. Turn in early to get a good start on the next day refreshed and ready!

Poolside then maybe DTD or one of the water parks. You could even eat at DTD, Planet Hollywood or Rainforest Cafe would be good.
