Arrival day dinner? Chef Mickey's or

1900 Park Fare with the Cinderella characters? The prices are the same, so that's not an issue. We are doing a bunch of character meals and I'm not sure, but it seems like most of them are Mickey and friends already, and I'm not even going to try for CRT, here's our list:
Arrival day - ???
MK Day - lunch @ Crystal Palace
2nd MK Day - dinner @ Liberty Tree Tavern
EPCOT - lunch @ Garden Grill
other EPCOT morning - Princess Storybook Bkst
AK - Donald's Breakfastosaurus
Last day - Either Cape May bkst or Chef Mickey's (if we don't do Chef M's for dinner 1st night)

What do you think? Anyone done the Park Fare? It doesn't seem to be as popular from what I've read on other boards...

1900 for breakfast and dinner. Past Nov. we did it for our first dinner. We arrived to the park around 2pm did some rides, took the monorail to GF had a wonderful dinner at 6:30 and then went to bed!! We saw Cind, prince, Fairy GM, perla, Suzie(?) I think Alice Wond. may have been there too or was it Mary Pop and Bert????? It was a great starter to the trip. We have also done the breakfast. Mary Pop, Mad Hatt, Winnie, FGodmom, Cindy stopped in real quick--we got lucky, Alice Winnie Pooh Food also very good and service was very good. My oldest wasn't feeling well---they didn't charge her for her food she didn't eat. They brought her tea.

Does it *have* to be a Character meal, or are you looking for some entertainment? 'Ohana is a great dinner for your first night. Lots of atmosphere, and kids can play along with all the games. No characters are present, but it's definitely enjoyable and interactive. Personally, we get pretty tired of character meals by the end of our trip, so we try to space them out, every other day or so. It's definitely a good photo opportunity, but sometimes, it feels like you're rushing through your meal, eating it in spurts, inbetween characters coming to the table.

I'd go to 1900 Park Fare. I think it would be a wonderful start to your trip. We go there for dinner and breakfast every trip and have not been disappointed.

The characters are very attentive and the whole atmosphere seems more relaxed than Chef Mickey's.

What about RFC at DTD for your 1st night? It may be more appropriate for your boys, and you can wonder around and enjoy the DTD area after your meal!

While we love character meals, they also make us tired and ready to enjoy a quiet meal!

On our first day we are going to see Mickey at the comtemporary for dinner and then take a bus over to DTD and shop around! I've never seen DTD and I know they rest of the week we'll be in the parks! Plus I don't want to waste a park ticket on 1/2 a day or less!

We've done dinner at both. Chef Mickey's is more fun, 1900 PF has the better food. CM is our first night tradition, a tradition my children aren't the least bit interested in giving up. IMO there is no better restaurant to set the mood for the rest of the trip.
