Arrival day afternoon - AK or Epcot?

We will be arriving at mco around noon, staying at AKL traveling with ds1 and ds6. Need to leave whatever park we go to on arrival day by 6:30 to get the baby to bed. Is it worth traveling from AKL to epcot for 3 or so hours? If we arrive mco at noon what time could we realistically expect to arrive at epcot by disney transportation (using magical express and their park shuttles)? By 3pm? Animal kingdom is closer to the hotel but not sure if we could fit our whole itinerary there into one afternoon and not planning to return to animal kingdom but do have a second full day planned at epcot. Just don't want to spend our whole afternoon on transportation for very little park time. Any thoughts welcome.

ETA: possibility of rain in the forecast! Originally planned to hang out by the pool, so where should we go if it is going to rain?

If everything lines up perfectly? I don't think you could get to Epcot by 3 pm.
I would say that the fastest you'd get to AKL and checked in with a noon flight is about 2 pm. In my opinion, you might be ready to head out at 3 pm.

Heading back by 6:30 really makes this difficult.

You might be better off finding something to do at AKL or head over to AK for a short visit.

How many days total do you have planned?

I agree that it probably would be later than 3pm for Epcot. There are just too many different factors as far as the timing. If you happen to catch a Magical Express bus that is already mostly full, then you'll leave pretty quickly for AKL. If, however, the timing is such that you happen to be some of the first on the Magical Express- the driver may wait a little while for it to fill up some more before leaving for AKL. Once you arrive at AKL you may be able to check in quickly..maybe not.

If arrival day is your only opportunity to go to Animal Kingdom, then I would just go to Animal Kingdom. I would take a look at their hours for your arrival day and play it by ear.

Is there anyway the baby can sleep in the stroller? Epcot is absolutely delightful with a six year old and sleeping baby. You just push around the countries drinking and eating while the 6 year old colors at the Kidcots and the baby snoozes. Rent a stroller that is smooth and folds flat and put a blanket over it. Nice little sleepin cocoon.

Hmm, this is kind of what I thought. How bad is animal kingdom in the rain? We have seven full days but if we aren't doing the pool on arrival day I need to switch it with something else so we can do the pool another day.
