Has anyone done this tour? What's it like and is it worth the money?

I am thinking that I would love to do it, but the only problem is that my DH is in a wheelchair and can't do it, but he'd love to come along and watch me, take pics, etc. If I signed up for the tour, would he be able to come in with me just to hang out?

I've done it twice. It's a blast! Here's a link:

You can get a discount by booking with Disney Visa or if you have an Annual Pass.

Unfortunately, your DH can't come along as you will be riding around World Showcase. They don't allow anyone but the paid participants.

DH and DD did this tour, I stayed behind with DS who is also a wheelchair user. We were able to watch some of the first part where they had some practice on the Segways indoors. I was able to take pictures of that part, but once they head outside it would be hard for your DH to follow, although he could wait and catch some pictures when you return.

We filled in time by taking the Behind The Seeds tour in the Epcot greenhouses which was very interesting.

I've been on it 3 times and enjoyed it every time.
The participants are actually in World Showcase before it is open to other guests. That's one of the reasons that none of your family members can accompany you.
The last time I went, DH stayed with younger DD in her wheelchair. He knew about when we would be coming out of WS and they waited for us to go by them near the entrance from Future World to WS.

Another possibility would be if you are staying at or could get to one of the Epcot Resorts. The International Gateway is open in the morning to let guests at those resorts into Epcot (between the International Gateway and Canada toward Future World). As far as I know, the CMs won't let people pass from Future World back into WS, but people coming thru the International Gateway can go into WS. We've seen people sitting on the benches in the UK and Canada.
As the participants are going thru that area of WS and also going back to the training area, they are moving pretty fast and are not allowed to stop, but my DH was able to get some pictures of us as we went by.

I have always wanted to try one of these and so has my husband but he too is in a wheel chair (PArt time except when on vacation because of all the walking and standing he is in a power chair full time then)

Anyway he has ability to stand shorter time ok. We went to Innoventions and did the free segway trial. It was about 2 minutes on the segway but it was his only chance to ever get to try one and he was physically able to do that shorter time. I got to try one too that day.

You actually have to sign a waiver that says you are free from any physical disability, though.
