Ariel's Grotto.. experiences or reviews?

I have booked Ariels Grotto for lunch on our August trip but I have read questionable reviews on Trip Advisor.

Any tips or advice before we go to make it a worthwhile memorable experience for our family?

We have heard mixed reviews... We chose to do Minnie and friends instead we will be there August 11-13

There are a lot of people who love it, but we didn't enjoy our lunch there. The food was meh, the service was horrible and the character interaction limited & rushed. And although she was there and we did eventually get to meet her, Ariel was not at the entrance and she was the reason my 3 yr old wanted to go.
