Ariel's Grotto check in question

We have a PS for Ariel's Grotto in the morning and I was wondering how similar it is to checking in for Minnie & Friend's before the actual opening time for the park. Is there a special gate you check in at as well? What time should we get there? I just know that the walk to AG is further than the walk to the Plaza Inn.

If your PS is after 9:30 am (and I have never heard of them being earlier), then you will be able to get into the front gates at DCA with the rest of the general guests when the open the front of the park at that time. You will see signs for Ariel's breakfast guiding you over near GRR where a rope is set up. Tell the CM there that you have ressies at Ariel's and they will let you through the rope to walk down to the Pier.

At least that is how it worked when I did it a couple years ago.

I agree. We've never done it, but MANY times we've been standing at the rope waiting for 10am to roll around and people will walk up, say they have reservations and they're let through. Enjoy!

We had a PS at AG at 8:15, we just walked to the gates and checked in with the CM, put our stuff in a locker and headed to the restaurant. You had to walk around past Soarin' & Grizzly but that was OK, and since we were so early (park didn't open until 10) there was no one else there. If we hadn't been late we would have stopped to take a lot of photos.
