I normally get the sinus type symptoms, and sneezing...this season I have more of a icky throat thing, not really sore, but not really dry...just icky, but my sinuses are clear. Anyone else?

Yes. My throat has been bothering me too but so has everything else. My head feels like it's going to explode and I've went through boxes of tissues.
This year is s really bad allergy season.

Yes! I'm usually sneezing like crazy with a runny nose, but this year I've barely sneezed, and no runny nose. Instead, I'm perpetually feeling like a cold is coming on, itchy throat and ears, dry eyes, headache ugh :headache:

YEP!! last year it was a sneeze fest. This year is sore sinuses and ***** eyes. My eyes look like I have pink eye, and have looked like that for two weeks (And I dont have pink eye)

I've had a rash for 3 weeks now that my primary care dr. thinks could be seasonal allergy related. I have an appt. with the dermatologist next week (that was the soonest appt. I could get) and hopefully she'll be able to determine what is causing this. I've never heard of getting a rash from seasonal allergies, but apparently it can happen. I've been taking Zyrtec, and for the past couple of days there has been a little improvement which is encouraging.

My poor dd is taking Zyrtec and uses Flonase and is still miserable. : ( The pollen is so bad this year. I could use my finger to write my name on our car through all of the pollen on it.

my right eyelid is twitching and both eyes are watery. It's driving me batty! I tried zyrtec but it's not helping much this year :sad1:

I usually have a very mild reaction to the oak pollen.

This year, my eyes are gummed shut when I wake up in the morning, my throat hurts constantly and I am terribly congested.

The only thing that really helps me is plain old benadryl which fortunately doesn't make me sleepy.

Possibly. I normally just get severe sinus headaches and that's pretty much it, but this past weekend during the St. Louis Half-Marathon, I had a pretty significant asthma attack beginning at mile 5.5 or so that didn't let up until about an hour after the race was done (and I had had some Diet Pepsi to try to open my airways a little bit, as the rescue inhaler had no effect.) I've always had exercise-induced asthma, but it always quit when the exercise did. During this one, I had to stop and rest twice during the 6-block walk back to my car afterward, and I was moving at a snail's pace then. Scariest (and most frustrating) experience of my life. I spoke to my doctor and she suspected allergies as the trigger (along with the exercise) because oak pollen was at record levels that day; I'd had no asthma problems at all during any of my training for the race, when it was cooler and pollen levels were quite low (or nonexistent.) I might end up back on shots once I get home (am in Orlando through the end of the month), and I haven't been on regular allergy shots in probably 20 years.

This year my eyes are alot worse than normal too. I did get some of those Visine allergy drops- they have helped a lot!!! And I've only used them for 2 days so far. :goodvibes

Like everyone else, my allergies have been horrible. Normally, I just get plugged up a bit and sneeze. This year, my throat has been constantly dry, my sinuses are either tender or plugged up so bad I sound like I have a terrible cold, and my eyes are red and puffy all the time. Gotta love those allergies. The wind around here has been green lately because of the pollen. I take Zyrtec but it only works for maybe 6 hours at a time. I'm practically immune to it. I hope everyone feels better soon.

I have strong allergies all year round, but I can definitely tell that this time of the year is worse than normal. I think its because we go from dead barren winter to flowering trees really really fast, and our bodies can't catch up.

Weird, I've got the throat thing too. Usually I get a stuffy, runny nose, but this season it's all itchy dry throat. I keep wanting to clear my throat, but it's like I just can't get the right spot. Oh well, I prefer it to the stuffy nose, but it sure isn't pleasent.

Me too! I seriously need to look into some drops. Normally I'm like allergic rhinitis central, and I can't get through 10 minutes without a kleenex, but I've had no nasal symptoms this spring, just eyes, which normally don't bother me. :confused3

I prefer it too as I can still breath, but it is wearing me down, the constanct "blech" ache in in my throat. On the up side, our crab apple tree bloomed otday and I'm loving the magenta flowers! Getting that a few weeks early this year, usually it's around Mothers Day.

Yep. If my throat isn't dry and scratchy, it feels full of gunk. ugh!

uuugggh, my allergies this year are driving me crazy :guilty: ... not only do I have the itchy eyes, runny nose & sore/dry throat :sad2:, but this year I also broke out in hives :scared: ...

My itchy eyes are consistent, but this time it's sinus congestion instead of a runny nose. I'll take the runny nose any day. I can't help but wonder if my cough was allergy-related, too. Boooo on allergies.
