Are You Worried About Iran's Feb 11 Threat to the West?

Just a lot of rhetoric, or not? If not, what do you think they have planned? My guess is some sort of nuke test, etc.

Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Monday that Iran is set to deliver a "punch" that will stun world powers during this week's 31st anniversary of the Islamic revolution.
"The Iranian nation, with its unity and God's grace, will punch the arrogance (Western powers) on the 22nd of Bahman (February 11) in a way that will leave them stunned," Khamenei, who is also Iran's commander-in-chief, told a gathering of air force personnel.

We sure live in a scary world :guilty:

I suspect all of our Facebook Avatars will be hacked and turned some color other than green to make up for the election protests.

In all honesty I am not worried about it. Hopefully the people who are supposed to monitor such things (CIA, NSA, Google apparently after this past weeks announcements) are doing so but the moment I allow myself to panic over threats is the day that those that make the threats win.

There are crazy Iranians just like there are crazy Americans. The vast majority of both (and just about all nations) are good people who just want to coexist on our planet.

Perhaps they are planning to enter a bobsled team in the Winter Olympics :)

Honestly, I am not a fan of Iran and their politics (other countries freak me out on a greater level) however I have confidence in the humanity of average Iranians.

Not that they won't try something, but I'm not going to worry about it. Worrying just makes the threat successful.

I'm more worried about getting out of the neighborhood because of of all this snow.

I am SO over winter.

agnes!

There's no more room for worry here, our concerns rest with our DS and so many others deployed to Afghanistan/Iraq, etc., returning safe and sound.

It's also my boss' birthday. I'm more worried about faking a smile during her lunch... :surfweb:

Hmmmmmmmm, I wasn't even aware of that. Well, since there is not a whole heck of a lot I can do about it, I will go back to worrying about my regularly scheduled worries. Oh, and the fact that I can't find a reasonable hotel room anywhere near Mohegan Sun on Feb 13th... We are going to see Kid Rock there and I want to stay overnight but rooms at the Mohegan are over $500/night. :headache:

I WILL be really pissed at Iran if they screw things up a few days before DH and I get our first "date night" of the year. Seriously, we need a night out!

Having gone thru 9/11 in NYC I can't say I don't worry a little every time I hear about a threat. My DH still rides the subway every day and when I hear about "dirty bombs" and suicide bombers I still cringe a little.

It only takes a few crazies to wreak havoc. So yes OP, I worry a little about these things.

:rotfl::rotfl:

Nope, not worried. If a bunch of crazies want to do something, me worrying about it isn't going to change it. Sometimes ignorance is bliss. ;)

I'm worried they had a hand in this blizzard and that as a result, hubby's Thursday flight home will be cancelled and that he will have trouble getting flight arrangements out.

I'm so worried--that I have my backup date to the Harry Connick Jr concert lined up.:lmao:

But on a serious note--I cannot live my life in fear of what will occur. I have to trust that any action will be thwarted and if not, then damage and casualties will be mitigated by the govt and safety personel.

I can't live with a tin foil hat. It simply doesn't coordinate with my wardrobe or my sanity.

Worried---no, I trust who is truly in control
Concerned---yes, especialy for the safety of our military

I'm worried about running out of brownies during this next blizzard. Iran is going to have to wait until i can dig out to deal with them. My husband is probably more worried about dealing with me than Iran;)

I wouldn't say I was worried, but yes I'm definitely concerned about Iran's 'announcement'.

I think, if you're going to do something major, why warn everyone ahead of time, unless you're bluffing to get concessions.

just my guess :confused3

My FIL is from Iran and this is exactly what he is saying. A bunch of propaganda!

I can't live my life worrying about what other people may or may not do.

I prefer to stay (semi) sane. ;)
