Are you willing to pay rack rate at the Deluxe?

NO AP, NO AAA, NO CODES... Will you still be willing to pay rack rates at those Deluxes? Let's just say "money IS the object". Are the deluxes that much worth it?

When you do Deluxes and while you're on the trip, do you cut budget somewhere else just to be able to stay there? When you stay in the Deluxes, do you split your stay with Moderate or Value? But if you only do Deluxes, is your stay shorter?

Any Deluxes that is worth paying rack rates?

Nope.

I have never paid rack rate for any resort at WDW and I have stayed in most of them. I would never pay rack rate for a value, mod, or deluxe. :)

NO way would I pay rack rates at a deluxe. I would go with a moderate.

The question is not whether you would or have paid "rack rate" for a particular resort, but rather, what is the most (at present) you would be willing to pay for a particular resort room? Rack rate may seem reasonable to some and outrageous to others. It's kind of like shopping for a new car- if no one ever told you that you can haggle with the dealer and pay below sticker price you may buy a new car at sticker price and feel perfectly content until someone informs you that they paid $x below the sticker. At that point you are not happy with what you paid. Everyone reading and posting messages here and on the internet in general knows that they have good opportunities to pay something below Disney's posted rack rate and makes good use of that information but, at times, needs to make a decision on paying a certain price for a certain resort room for a certain time. At times, I'm sure rack rate is all there is and then you have to decide if you are willing (and able) to pay that. After the decision, the trick is to not look back and second-guess yourself as we all do over large purchase decisions.

I can't imagine spending more than $200 per night just for a room with 2 beds in it to sleep.... However, if I were going to spend ALL my time at the resort and make full use of all it has to offer, then I would gladly spend $300 a night for a nice resort, but don't think I could justify spending any more than that for a week's vacation even if I was spending every minute in my expensive room. The only exception would be if it were my honeymoon or a very special occasion or if it were going to be the BIG one-in-a-liftetime trip to WDW...

NO!! I would never pay rack rate for a standard Deluxe room and I LOVE Deluxes!!!

Never in a million years. Esp not when I can pay a cheaper rate and stay at the Ritz!

Nope, there are too many discounts out there to take advantage of.

Thats a little condescending. Not everyone can go when a discount is offered, and not everyone goes often enough to justify buying an AP pass. My traveling companion is a school principal, they work all year, he does get 4 weeks off in the summer, june is spent tying up the school year that just finished and August is spent preparing for the new year. Someone has to plan those bus routes, class lists and and comply with all the local, state and federal regulations. So we pay rack rate for the hotel we wnat. We just save to do it!

If I did, I'd have to change to going only once a year. I need my Mickey therapy more often than that! Get a code and/or AP rate!

I am paying rack rate for my upcoming Aug/Sep trip in order to get the free dining plan. It was worth giving up my AAA discount.

You're not really paying rack rate if you're getting the free dining package.

I wouldn't pay rack rate when you get get offsite properties like the Gaylord Palms for half that price.

i stay deluxe but dont pay rack rate
i mean think that the GF is stunning but im not paying almost 400 a night for standard i stayed at the WL last sept and loved it but had a pin code and only paid 137 a night
i see posts opn here for over 200 for a night at the Wl and i think thats high the rooms are nice but small

YEP ! ::yes::

We've paid rack rate almost every year.First two years were at moderates though. And last year was at WL....

We've always booked packages (silver w/the dining) so we've always paid rack rate.
Now that we've fallen in love with WL, we will be paying rack rate again next fall unless ofcourse some sort of fantastic package deal comes out for our time frame.

We do Disney every other year, and book our trips as soon as the next years rates come out. That way we have a nice long time to pay for our trip :wizard:

It would depend why I was going. If I was not planning to spend as much time in the parks, then yes. If I planned to spend most of my trip in the hotel, swimming, dining, etc. then the deluxes are worth it. I'd love to plan a no parks weekend one of these days and just stay at AKL and enjoy AKL.

However, if I planned to spend most of my waking hours in the parks, or DTD then no. I'd stay at Pop Century. :)

Yes,

During the value season for the WL at the end of August. It wasn't that much more per night than a moderate and some of the basic differences such as queen size beds, inside corridors, possible bunk beds and such made it worth it to us. Its great that the dinning plan is now included but we still thought it was a good value anyway. As a FYI we will be taking breaks every day back at the hotel for 2-4 hours so the hotel is important to us and we are traveling with two kids 6 & 8.

We booked rack with dinning 4 months ago and now we get free dinning. Life is good! :cool1:

Maybe not but you aren't going to find the Ritz with a Magic Kingdom view. I can get the Ritz when I'm in NYC. When I'm at WDW I'll take the Polynesian every time.

I would never pay rack rates, unless someone kindly paid for my stay then I'd have no problem (but that's not gonna happen!). :)

I'm having trouble paying the AP rate for regular season instead of the value season AP rate, but my pass expires July 4th.

But no I would not pay rack rate when so many deals are out there to be had. :goodvibes
