DH is the oldest of 2.

DH's mother is an only which is pretty unusual for her generation. She's 78.

My DH is the youngest of 3 boys and a surprise at that. His mother suffered 7 miscarriages and wanted a family so terribly. She was an only child and wanted to be a mother since she could remember. She got her wish by adopting 2 wonderful boys, then surprise! She was on bed rest for 3 mos. w/ him. He barely survived his first year.

I am the 5th in a family of 6. Growing up, it seemed like my parents had 2 sets of kids -- the older 3 and then the younger 3. Not that there were a lot of years between the 3rd & 4th kids, but by the time I came along, my older brother was 16. I was the flower girl in my oldest sisters wedding. That being the case, in a lot of ways, I'm a middle kid. Does that make sense?
