Are you planning to watch "Brace for Impact"??

I watch a lot of TLC (lol)...and I keep seeing commercials for a special which will air on Sunday, January 10th, about the flight that landed in the Hudson River last year. In the commercial it shows Capt. Sulley taking the camera crew back over the Hudson River in what I'm assuming is the same flight path that he took that day. Harrison Ford will be the narrator. He's a pilot too, so I think he was probably a good choice for narrating this show.

I would like to watch this show, but I'm hoping that it won't be *too* emotional. When I think of how those pilots and passengers must've felt, as they headed right towards the Hudson, I can't help but think of the people on the flights on September 11th.

Of course this story has the best possible ending....so I probably will end up watching it.

I saw the commercials for the tsunami special but I was afraid that it'd be too intense and sad. I'm glad now that I didn't watch it. Those poor unsuspecting people.

I watched the Tsunami special too and cried my eyes out. It was extremely sad and emotional. I was stunned when I saw the home video footage of it happening.

So no, I won't be watching Brace for Impact. I have a serious fear of flying and the commercials alone nearly made my heart stop. I can't begin to imagine what the passengers were feeling knowing they were about to crash in a river. That pilot is an absolute hero!

If I ever met him, I would be as gushy and tongue-tied as most folks are with movie stars.

I've grown to detest TLC, so I haven't seen the commercials. Could you tell me when this special will be airing?

The tsunami one was so sad. I was bawling my eyes out by the end of the special. I think what did it was watching the home movies of families on vacation all happy and then suddenly after the tsunami hit these same families are looking over hundreds of pictures of dead people trying to find their dead daughter. It gave me a whole new perspective on life.

I will be watching the hudson river special. At least this special will have a happy ending

Thanks for posting this Terry, I think it will be a good documentary. I went right to my Tivo Mobile app and recorded it, love my iPhone! I also love TLC too, keep posting good shows like this, I haven't really watched tv in weeks, been really busy.

As a flight attendant, my co-workers and I keep saying no, we won't watch it, just because we are SO TIRED of hearing about it... but I am 100% sure I will end up watching at least some of it. It is just really such an amazing story.

I don't think I could handle watching it. Flying already terrifies me and I don't know if I would be able to get on the plane in February if I saw much of the documentary- even though I know it has a happy ending!

I saw the tsunami documentary it was absolutely heartbreaking. It brought me to tears. Seeing actual footage really made it hit home.
