We are "thinking" of trying to go for the first time right after Christmas. When do the crowds "slow down?" how long are the decorations up?

My SO & I will be @ DL Nov 26th-29th...My B-day is on the 29th...We are planning to do the Holiday Tour and if its being offered the Fantasmic! dessert seating package...both of these need to be booked at the 30-day mark, correct?...I have been @ DL in 2006 & 2008, my SO last visited DL in 1981!!!...We'll be stayin at the Sheraton on Katella for $50/night using my SO employee rate with Sheraton...We won't be in the parks on our arrival day, Thanksgiving, but we will have Thanksgiving dinner @ Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen (I know something special is happening @ Jazz Kitchen for Thanksgiving...can't say what until its officially announced!!)...this trip to DL is actually the pre-lude to our 7-day Mexican Riviera cruise on Royal Caribbean...on Sunday the 29th, for my B-day, we will only visit DL in the AM...I'll get my gift card & do last minute B-day shoppin...then around noon we head out to San Pedro pier to board our cruise and sail out @ 5pm...I looked forward to all the info that will be posted regarding DL & the Holidays...

We just decided to go in Dec!! We go every Dec. and this was going to be our 1st year not going in Dec, but we changed our minds quick LOL.. We are not sure on dates yet though.. either the 2-5th or 9-12th.. And I think at the PP.

Hi Everyone!

I hope that you all are happy and well. Gosh, even more people have joined the thread! It's so wonderful that you all will be able to share the Disney Christmas Magic with Your families and friends.

I can't wait to read all the trip reports, especially since there will be in room christmas decorations and birthdays celebrated when there.

If I have accidently missed someone on the update..or you need dates or hotel changed..please just let me know and I'll update it for you.

We were at Disneyland last christmas.. and at night.. when it got time for the parades.. it was very very crowded ...we saw it once then went back to the hotel room.

I put layers of clothing on the children that way they were warm without all the cumbersome coats.

Are there any special holiday treats? Is anyone baking any special mickey cookies for the room? Or maybe making the mickey mouse rice crispy treats? We don't buy the pre packaged candy, it never tastes fresh to me. So I usually bring some of our favorite disneyland snacks from home.

We'll be there Dec. 9th - 13th, staying at HoJo's or Candy Cane Inn. Probably HoJo's, but haven't decided yet for sure.

Can't wait! We've only been to Disneyland in the past during hot and/or crowded times, usually summer. This will be our first December Disneyland trip, though we've been to WDW before in early December. I love all the holiday extras!

Hey guys! My family's hoping to make a trip down to Disneyland in early December. We haven't locked in dates yet. I know the Christmas parade and fireworks are daily, but is Fantasmic! just on the weekends? I was able to access the December 2007 calendar on MousePlanet(when it was just on weekends), but not the 2008. So if anyone could tell me how it was last year, it'd help in our planning!

We were there last year for my dd's birthdays on the 5th and LOVED it! We're going back Dec. 4th - 7th. We did the Christmas tour and we all loved it and will probably do it again this year! You can't beat DL all decorated for Christmas!! Happy planning to all!!!

I just booked the Park Vue (literally less than an hour ago) for DH and I December 9-13! We were not going to go until next year, but we decided we could afford it!!! We will be leaving early Wednesday morning so we can spend the afternoon in the park. My parents may come along too, but they are not sure yet.

Super excited to go!!!!!


WAIT!!!!! We changed... I know we had the Park Vue booked this morning, but we are now going the 12-16 and staying at HOJO with the entertainment rate! Saved us $70 and 2 days of work for DH! So add me for those new days at the HOJO please. It will be our first time at HOJO!!! Deluxe garden view room too.

Yeah, I just got off the phone with disney and we're now going Dec. 2 - 7 staying at the Disneyland Hotel!! Can't wait!! We had such a wonderful time last year!! Now I have to make the plane reservations tonight!!! We're planning on buying the CP dinner package for better viewing this year!!
