Are you obsessed with planning as much as I am?

Hi! I'm almost there, but I'm still not done with my October and December trips!! Yeeks***I can't decide if I want to split our stay during our 11N trip in December between a Deluxe and MOD. My husband would only agree to one move! Oct/Nov we're at the Contemporary6N and POFQ for 1N. I have to redo a lot of our PS for OCT/NOV. Found out that more people that we know will be there and we want to get together for a meal. etc.... My 1st trip was cut short due to FRANCES, so now will have to try a schedule in a Story Book Princess breakfast plus others that we missed. Good news is that I'm going again two more times (in addition to Oct & Dec trips) before my AP runs out next August. I bet that we end up going 3xs!! My problem is that I keep planning, then replanning. Can't seem to get it right the 1st time!! Can anyone else relate? For example, I made CP dinner ressies at Garden Grill for 5pm (earliest they had/open) and need to be at the CP by 6:15 for 6:45 show. Can that be done? Anyone?? I don't want to miss our preferred seating for CP. PM me with what you think before I have to change them. I only want to change it one more time! Thanks!!!

I'm sooooo tempted to buy the new 2005 Unofficial Guide. I've read, reread the 2004 guide. Another symtom of WDW planning addiction: Can't shop without thinking will this be good for WDW??!! I'm talking summer clothes, backpacks, fanny packs, little wallets (still trying to find perfect holder for AP passes!!) strollers (I think I found the perfect one!!) foods, shoes etc.....

Obsessed? I don't think that's the right word. I check the boards almost every day, and have a variety of other materials. I've already joined CAA and started planning our route and possible stops. The other night I made a collage out of an old Disney brochure for the cover of our trip binder. But I wouldn't call that obsessed I consider travel planning to be my hobby. Since it's a hobby, I don't hide what I'm doing. DH may roll his eyes on occasion, but he has his hobbies, too, and he does reap the benefits of mine.

So, don't worry about your planning, it's good for stress, and surely everyone thanks you when your trip is fabulous.

I close my screen also when anyone else comes in the room because they all make fun of me. You know what though this is our first trip and I am the only one trying to get some information. When we get there and everyone starts asking me questions I'll be the one laughing. If I left it up the the rest of my party we would show up not knowing park hours and eating at counter service all wk.

My kids call this my "crack." Whenever they clean up the kitchen for me, they leave me a note telling me where I can find my "stuff" so that I won't call them at school asking them where they put it.

They don't like to see me get twitchy.

I am now in the process of making 12 pairs of Mickey Mouse PJ's for the trip, (souvenirs) just so I can feel like I am still doing something to get ready for my trip.

This will be our first trip ever and I am really obsessed withe the planning . I think if I didn't find this boards, I would have been joining the clueless others in asking how much a Fastpass costs

Are you kidding? I'm on here every day checking out new threads. My husband picked up our DD3 from preschool the other day, and when they came home I was on the DIS (again), and my DD actually looked up at me and asked "Mommy, are you on the WIZ again?"

My husband has been running with that one ever since, "Quit WIZ-zing and come to bed!"

Guilty as charged my whole family makes fun of me but oh well they are obsessed with baseball me it's Disney. However everyone of them come to me and ask me questions to post. No I do not close the screen when they come in the room.

Without a doubt I've become obsessed, between the planning and reading these boards. I am the most unorganized person when it comes to everything else except for our Disney vacations.

You know what? I saved TONS of $$ thanks to these boards so anyone who makes fun of me is just jealous of my money saving skills..lol.

I got airfare for $39 one way thanks to a post I read here. My friend turned me on to the boards and I thank her every time we talk.

Embrace your obsession....be proud of yourself. We are saving money and time for our families by being on these bosrds for 5 hours a day, 7 days a week, months before our trips....okay, maybe we are just a little obsessed...lol

i don't think of being here all the time as obsessive, i think of it as "prepared"......we may get the "eyes rolled" at us from our spouses and family, but THEY are the ones who ask "so, what's the plan?". if i left it up to my dh, we'd be the family that was totally unprepared, standing at the entrance to the park with the map wide open scratching our heads & then waiting in long lines to spend tons of money on crappy food! they just need to be reminded that all our time spent here is for THEM!!! i told my dh that we spend all this time and money, i want us to get the most out of our trip! he totally agrees and doesn't "roll the eyes" at me.....if he does, i can do the same to him when he is on HIS forum.
