Are you having your pets photo taken with Santa this year?

Noticed an ad in the little town paper that came around and thought it was a cute idea - although I don't know how expensive the photos are.. I've also recently seen some animal shelters offering the same - with a portion of the proceeds going to the shelter..

We just had our Santa photo weekend at my shelter. DFi played Santa on Sunday and had a blast!
Our dog got her picture taken with the big guy! Last year we didn't have a dog, so our cat Otis got to go. He was nice enough to let Penny have the turn this year.

The photos with Santa that I know about in our area were last Saturday and I forgot about them until it was too late.
So we took our regular pet photos in front of the fireplace and then I thank my lucky stars that I didn't embarrass myself by bringing them to see Santa! It took us FOREVER to take the darn pictures! They wouldn't sit still for anything!
Maybe next year....

It was $10 for a 5x7 or $15 for a CD with all the pictures the photographer took of your pet (usually between 3-5) and the 5x7. All the proceeds went directly to our shelter (where the even was held)
I'm sure it varies depending on the organization/business offering them, but I think ours were very reasonably priced.

That's not bad at all!! Less than having your kids photos taken with Santa at some locations.. LOL..

Hmm.. Maybe I'll mention one of the local ones to my DD..

Our mall event was last Sunday. I was going to take my dog, but decided that it was something that I was doing only for myself and that she would be afraid. The event this year was scheduled during mall hours and I didn't think my dog would do well in a crowded mall with kids in line to see Santa. My dog is very sweet and well-behaved, but I will not risk a bite--a photo just isn't worth it. (Cost was the same as for children's photos; cheapest package was $20.)

I may take my dog to PetSmart for their Santa photos. She took her training at this store and is comfortable here. I know the Santa won't be a fancy or real-looking, but my concern is for my dog, not a great picture. Cost is $10 with $5 going to local animal charities.

I did try to wrap strands of LED lights around her bed and get a photo, but it didn't work out.

It's $10 at the local PetSmart's and 50% of the money goes to the rescue group that is in the store, and have provided the Santa's and the elf's taking the pictures. It's a lot of work, but is (was LOL) fun.
The two Rottweilers on either side of hubby (who was Santa last year) were fine, until that lady put the corgi (not related to the rotties...did she think they were props??) in the middle of them on his lap before we realized what she was doing. It was a lot more noise than bite, at least on hubby (and the elf was kind enough to take a picture during all of the excitement (I was the elf). This year we'll both be on the other side of the camera. He'll never be Santa again.
You get a nice little picture folder as well.

$25 at a local shopping center. It's a little ridiculous, but we did it one year so we've been doing it ever since.

I would love to bring my dog but he doesn't know how to behave in public. He gets so excited around new people and doesn't understand why everyone doesn't enjoy his slobbery kisses.

We have professional portraits taken yearly with our DD and the dogs. We pay alot more than $15 though

I have always wanted to do this but my male dog is a rescue and has severe fear/aggression issues. Santa needs both hands to give out presents and my guy would certainly try to remove one, if not both, of them.
