Are you happy with your spouses job?

DH is a Transmission Rebuilder. Since he is certified and works in a specifide area of automotive repair the pay is very good. Also we don't have to worry about lay-offs since there aren't alot of people that know how to rebuild the transmissions. He eventually wants to teach at semiar

I am more happy with it now than about 2 years ago. He is in the market. He works with large firms helping to plan retirement portfoliios. So you can imagine all the joy he has had lately. The stress is tremendous, the hours are very long. Especially when you have to watch the overseas markets. The only benefits are the great travel and the salary. It has afforded us a great living and now with my son grown great opportunities to travel together.

He on the other hand hates my job. Continually tells me not many people have to work in building with barricades and 3 security doors just to be safe. Plus working mids - he really hates.

My husband is the President of a small (around 100 employees) manufacturing company. He pretty much runs the entire place on his own. He knows how to do every job in the place including the ones on the assembly line, and has been known to pitch in when necessary. I love it because he has complete freedom to come and go as he pleases, he gets as much paid vacation time as he wants (as long as his work eventually gets done) the owner is a wonderful man who really appreciates my husband, and the best part of all, he only works 6 blocks from home. It also pays him very well, enough that I am able to be a stay at home mom and be able to do the volunteer work that I enjoy.

The only drawback that I can think of is that it is at times stresssful for him because he takes on too much work and would rather do the extra work himself than spend the company's money to hire someone.
