Are you giving your groom a gift the day of the wedding?

I wasn't going to, but Chris got it in his head that he needed to give me a present. He wanted to get me Mikimoto pearl earrings (because he likes them) but I told him that even though they would be lovely, I would really like a pair of diamond stud earrings. I think I'm going to get him a watch and some cool cufflinks.

I gave DH sterling mickey cufflinks. I know he won't wear them again, but I figured they're more of a keepsake and maybe one day we'll have our own child's wedding he can wear them for.

At the end of our trip we went to the disney art shop on Main St and got an exact replica castle that even has the lights that change color like the real castle does at night. We don't ususally spend that much $$ on our trips, but we figured we could splurge for once!! It's a nice thing to see all the time and remember the trip by.

I am giving DF Tiffany & Co. cufflinks for his tux....

Oh, which ones... I gave DF Tiffany cufflinks for his tux when he was my escort for my debutante ball. Too bad he's not wearing a tux to the wedding, because he hasn't worn them since...

you know I havent decided on which ones yet... Maybe the ones that say Return to Tiffany

We decide not to get each other gifts, We went in on the Back lot tour. Its expensive but well worth it. I am the only one in my family that hasn't taken the tour so we are both super excited about it.

DH and I exchanged gifts the week before our wedding. We both have patience issues. :confused3

Anyway I got him a framed Disney stock. He has been a Disney freak since he was born and converted me. And he had everything Disney except for it's stock. He LOVES it!

DH got me an official replica of Arwen's sword, Hadhafang, from LOTR. I had gotten him Anduril (Aragorn's sword) a few years ago for Christmas. So I LOVE that we now have both.

Besides not being the touring types, we both really wanted something that would either appreciate in value or that we could atleast physically see or hold.

I bought my husband a cryptex, similar to the one in The Da Vinci Code. I found them one day whilst I was browsing the 'other stuff' section of ebay (I won't even go there with other kind of things I found!! LOL). I had the code set as the day we met rather than our wedding day... and put stuff personal to us inside (lyrics to 'our' song, cinema tickets from our first cinema trip, photobooth pics from when we first met, etc etc, and a letter I wrote to him), then I had it engraved....
'She is recreation
She intoxicated by thee
She has the slow sensation that
He is levitating with she'

Bit strange perhaps... but very 'us' ;)

I wanted to get my DF a TAG watch with our wedding date and time engraved on it, with the words see you there. But money is tight and this is something we can't afford. So we are going to pick something in Disney that we can keep to remind us of our trip.

OMG I thought I was the only nerd here!! :woohoo:

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

LOL, not the only nerd by any means. My husband and my wedding rings are the gold replicas of the "One Ring" with the elvish inscribed on the outside and inside.

Nerds Rule:thumbsup2
