Are you faithful to your home resort?

None of the options work for me.

We bought in 2009. I didn't stay at our home resort until 2015, if memory serves. I've stayed there...2? more times since then.

For people like me, "buy where you wouldn't mind staying if it's all you can get" is a much better rule of thumb.

Editing to add...if I ever got a chunk of money and bought VGF I would only use those points to stay there. Love that place!

Our home is BWV, and I think we've stayed there about 50percent of the time, maybe just a tad less. it's our favorite for location for sure, to walk to HS and Epcot, but often we'll do a split stay, with half at AKL or wherever, and half at BWV. We did buy where we want to stay, so if we only had to do BWV, that's ok, I foresee many future stays there. BUt we love trying the other places too, and so far, mostly no big issues getting rooms elsewhere.

We own at BCV & SSR. While we prefer to stay at the Epcot properties, we also like to stay at SSR and other DVC properties. We are actually "home sick" since we haven't been able to travel due to health conditions. Hoping 2022 will be a better year for us.

I've never even been to my home resort. I have seen it across the lake from Disney Springs though. It looks nice.

With multiple home resorts, it’s easy to answer YES!! We’re very loyal

However, it’s also harder to answer when you try to think about them each individually. For instance, we do stay at BLT, RIV &/or BCV on every trip (we do a lot of split stays)… but our other 2 (Poly & AKV) have lately been used as SAP (we love them- but when we bring along guests they usually want to stay somewhere with walkability to parks). When we go as an entire family, we don’t stay Poly or BCV, and will lean more heavily on RIV & AKV. When it’s just one parent with a few kids, the world is their oyster and they have a hard time deciding which of our 5 home resorts to stay at (again, with split stays they will consider a few nights at a WL resort too, but still want one of our home resorts).

Our favorites-
1. Hubby- BLT (bc of walkability to MK- his/our fav park) and RIV, but WL is growing on him (we may end up adding on there... bc, yes, we buy where we want to stay!! )
2. Me- I seriously can’t decide !!!
3. 2 older girls- Poly/RIV/BCV/AKV
4. 2 boys- RIV/BCV/AKV
5. 2 youngest girls- BLT/RIV/AKV

I used to stay at BCV, my home resort, all the time until that last hard refurb when they took out the fans and jacuzzis. This is Florida, what moron would take out fans in the room? So I now book at BCV and at the 7th month try and get into BWV where they still have both fans and jacuzzis. I know, I'm just addicted to the jacuzzi especially in the winter when soaking every night does wonders for me after being numb from the winter up north.

We own at BLT and BWV and hav stayed at our home resort 9 out of 24 trips since joining. 3 of the non home resort trips were Aulani. We've stayed at all other resorts (except RIV) just to try them out. The only non-home repeats were AKL and SSR.

Going forward we'll probably stay at our home resorts more. We've tried all the others and are happy with were we chose.

I completely see the value in having RIV stay dedicated points, as well as SSR as SAP.

My family recently stayed at SSR and it was lovely, but I don’t think they are a great use of my RIV points.

We occasionally travel during peak times (March/April) and would rather use a lower point chart during those stays. As much as I’d love to stay at RIV during those trips… I’d rather use less points.

My family is still recovering from our first DVC purchase, so I don’t see an additional purchase for some time. But, I am always thinking of where we would buy additional points! I love hearing how others choose to use their points!

To the faithfulness poll:

Last month we bought at RIV, with a Sept UY, so we received 2020 points and will get 2021 points next month. We have these “extra” (not really, but that’s how we think of them) points to get through, so we are trying to book several short trips from Sept-May. Not all will be at our home resort.

We live 2 hours away from WDW & are APs, so we make short trips. Our plans from now until May 2022 include 2 nights OKW, 2 nights at Savanna (gift to my parents), 3 nights RIV (yay!), 2 nights AKL, and 4 nights at RIV.

My husband and I love RIV, so I foresee our longer stays at RIV, but for 2 nights, we are more flexible. I want to try them all eventually.

We’re Epcot/MK resort split stayers and almost always stay one part at BW (one of our home resorts). The other part we tend to bounce around to try different resorts (I’ve stayed at all but OKW and SSR so far).
