I can't seem to find this info anywhere. Just wondering if you are allowed to take pictures when on the rides, especially the ones like Buzz lightyear and other indoor ones. Are there any rules regarding when and where you can take pictures?

Out of courtesy to those around you Flash photography is not allowed. You are more than welcome to try and take pics without the flash...the concern is more that the flash bothers other people that are trying to enjoy the ride. If you are on an inside attractions (Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Buzz Lightyear, etc) just make sure the Flash is off and they won't say anything (but also keep in mind you probably won't get good pictures.)

At the beginning of each ride, they have an annoucement about any restrictions. Mostly it is just about flash photography. So as Humphreythebear said, just don't use your flash and you will be OK. (Depending on the lighting some of the pictures come out really great.) I have video'ed most of the slower rides (as long as it is not one with a restriction against video taping). My kids love watching this when we get home.

I can't stress enough to you and everyone who reads this, to listen to the announcement at the beginning of the ride/show! And follow the instructions! When I saw Fantasmic I could have sworn the announcement said NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY and I couldn't believe the number the flashes that went off during the show! I know there always the few who don't listen, but this was way more than a few!

that's why you film and not use flash. But the flash does bother some people...:)

I'll just add that we videotaped the Buzz Lightyear ride and it's really cool to watch it whenever we want. :) We also videotaped Peter Pan but it came out really bad because it's pretty dark on that one.

(We videotaped withOUT the light on!) :)

As others have mentioned, please just follow the directions at the beginning of the ride. We were on Haunted Mansion last year and the person 2 behind us was video taping with a major light on. It was really spoiling the ride for us. With the bright lights on you end up seeing things that you are not really suposed to see. Also, in the madam Leotta scene since the seats go in a circle, he ended up blinding me with the light.

Also, one time in Pirates of the Carribean there was a person in our boat really annoying us with a video camera with a bright light on and someone came over a loud speaker and told them to turn off the light.

Soooo... please just listen at the beginning or ask a CM.

I video taped Test Track and Thunder Mountain and it was pretty funny. Yeah--Peter Pan did not come out well at all.

what's really cool, if your camera (digital that is) is about the size of 2 fists max, you can stick it inside a ziplock bag, cut a small hole on the side for your strap, and record wet rides like Splash Mountain. I did it and it was great! My camera didnt get wet at all! Thank God for whoever invented Ziplock Bags! But I wouldnt Try it on KaliRiverRapids though... too risky...

Anyway, digital cameras all have the function for nightvision recording now, so when on attrctions that are dark, just switch it on, and everything is really clear. Mind you, it's in black and white, but at least you can see what's going on.
