Are you allowed to bring food on ride lines?

Just curious if they make you throw it out before you enter. I'm talking something simple like a bag of pretzels and a bottle of water and mainly on lines where there would be a longer wait.

Yes. We have never tried to enter a ride itself while holding food, but we eat in the lines all the time. We always have snacks in our pack and we have small kids, it's a great way to keep them going and make the most of our time.

Thank you! I'm currently making a bunch of touring plans and on our MK day we are doing RD so will be eating breakfast in our room & our BOG ADR is 2pm and I know we'll need to have something small to snack before that. Didn't know if I needed to schedule a break for that or not.

They will let you enter the line with food or drink, but once you get to a certain point, there is a trash can and they make you throw it away.

Some rides are more particular though - for example Soarin' made me toss my drink before I entered because it did not have a lid, so keep things like that in mind.

That's fine. I just wasn't sure how strict they were about eating on line. I wouldn't attempt to bring it into one of the fancier ones like Haunted Mansion Stretching Room or anything like that.

I would watch out about having nuts or peanut butter while in line, we had to take a grandson to ER because of reaction to peanut butter that he touched while in line. we did not see it so it was a very small amount but enough for a reaction. you may not react but other can

What a great reminder!! That would be very scarey!!

Space Mountain will not let you have any open food or drink when entering the line - ie: no cotton candy or drink without a lid. My DD15 ran into that so she hurried to finish her cotton candy before they would let her in the ride que.

Wow I don't understand why they would tell you to get out of a line that is not even in the building to finish something off. They are making you wait in these long lines so you should have something to do! At Disney California Adventures Cars Ride they walk thru the line selling water, pop and popcorn!!

That's terrible, but I'm not sure it's preventable unless Disney came up with a very strict policy about food in line.

That is actually a good idea. That line is a killer. We have only ridden with FP or the single rider line.

That is sad. Unfortunately peanut but sandwiches and treenut packs are some of the easiest things to pack. We do not bring sandwiches into the parks but I did bring mixed nut packets to Disneyland last year. It is one of the few snacks that my sailor son will eat. It was months later when I was helping my other kids to buy snacks for their trip that it could be a problem.

The best snack/line combo is in Disneyland...there is a 'secret' second line to buy Dole Whip inside the waiting area for Tiki Room ride (yeah, line is usually short), and then you are allowed to eat the quickly acquired sweet treat during the show!
