Are You Addicted To Disneyland? Do You Go Thru Withdrawals, Too?

It's certainly nice to be around "addicts" who are all in the same Disney boat!! Nobody else seems to really understand! :goodvibes

It is nice to come to the dis and be with others who suffer from the same addiction! I'll tell you this much, life is short so why not enjoy something that makes you happy, that you can share with friends and family all together? If the worst thing I ever do is take my kids to Disneyland/WDW too many times, then I will have lived a very good life. We have had a lot of things happen in my family in the last four or five years. If it weren't for our Disney trips, I am not sure dh and I could have gotten throught it all. Those trips help us get through the tough times and look ahead to happy times! I wouldn't change or give up my addiction for anything!

I'm glad Disney was able to make some tough times more bearable for your family. Isn't it nice to be able to escape for awhile and create some special memories for your family? :)

Leaving is aweful. I end up crying as I leave the park and cant turn around and look at the train at Main Station ringing its bell. The Main Entrance Queue music playing hurts to listen to and it makes you cry knowing its going to be a long time before you can come back.

I was so embarassed when I nearly started crying during the fireworks our first night in the park after three years, back in november. Then I came on here and read about all the rest of you that dont hold back the tears and actually let it out. So next time I won't be embarrassed, because there will be a next time, as I too am a Disney addict.

Me, too.
I am hopelessly addicted to DL. I don't know why, but my DH says I am "out of control". NOT! We stay for 2 - 4 nights three or four times a year. I think now that DD works there (she works on Buzz:) ), we will be going much, much more to see her.

Myself and my Granddaughter are addicted.

When we where coming back from Disneyland we was in the airport in Seattle
and the grandbaby DID NOT WANT TO LEAVE Disneyland so she started yelling in the airport and pointing that they are mean people to us (myself and my husband). I really thought that we where going to be arrested.

But every year we go to Disneyland for her Birthday.

The past two years in a row we have gone to DL in November and had wonderful weather, all the rides, great food, and an overall unbelievable time. When we were exiting the park on our last November trip my husband said, "Okay, how about we don't come back for 5 years?!" At the time my feet screamed OKAY! Well, we got home, and daily if not twice a day I am on this site, checking out what is new, reading about other peoples trips and secretly planning our next trip in 5 years. But don't tell my husband!

OMG, how could you wait FIVE years? If my husband said that to me I'd sock him in the face! When I went three years without going I was unhappy and homesick for disneyland and started staring at my Disneyland pictures day after day and finally my hubby said, alright I'll let you take me to disneyland. And then he loved it as much as I do and now he said we can go every year!! Well as long as we have the funds. Can you get sick of disneyland I wonder?

If you think you are addicted now - try going on a Disney Cruise. Talk about an expensive addiction. I have just booked my fourth! We go to DL for a fix in between cruises!

I too am a Disney addict (and proud of it). Not living in the area and being a single mom makes it a bit more difficult to go as often as we'd like. I actually wasn't planning to come back in '07 so I could save for WDW but a good friend of mine twisted my arm and we'll be back to DL in May.

I always feel better just knowing the plans are in the works. I never sleep much the night before we leave. I start packing a week in advance and we do a countdown chain. We watch every Disney movie we own in the 5-6 weeks before the trip. My kid (16) thinks I'm carzy until we get there. :rotfl:

She has no idea I am planning a trip to WDW for Jan 08 (gotta save up). At dinner on Sunday, she informed her Grandma that if she doesn't get to go to WDW before she gets married, she'll be getting married there. If she does get to go, she'll pick between WDW and DL and then she plans to honeymoon at Disneyland Paris. She's just as addicted as I am. LOL Hopefully she marries another Disney addict or can convert him.

I love playing at the park and singing along to all the songs. I always find something new in my wanderings.

To the OP: I'm 57 and have had an annual pass (premium--no blockouts) for 2 years. My parents took me to DL in 1955. We went as a family every summer for the next 15+ years. I know my father (and maybe my mom, too) loved DL as much as we kids did.

In the past 2 years I've been fortunate to have made several trips to DL, often for 4-5 days at a time. My friends (at least to my face) treat me with amused patience, for the most part. However, one recently asked me, "Are you finally tired of going to Disneyland?" WHAT?:scared1: She obviously doesn't get it!

I was last at the park Jan. 4-9 and I'm starting to get the itch. I'm sure I'll get back there soon. It's called "The Happiest Place On Earth"--that says it all.

The absolute only thing that keeps me sane is having trips planned. We were at DL unexpectedly last weekend, and all we kept saying is "we'll be back in 4 weeks, we'll be back in 4 weeks" so we wouldn't get depressed when we left. We had been there 4 weeks before that, too!!!

Disney parks are the only places where I can truly relax and let all the stress and worry disappear for a while. I can be my favorite self (KWIM?) when I am in the parks.

Thank heavens for the DIS! That gets me through the days until the countdown clock gets to "0".

Hi, my name is Traci, and I am a Disneyholic. My husband and I are both Disney freaks, and go to Disneyland about twice a year (we live 6.5 hours away). If we could go more often, we would. We have no kids, so when we go to Disneyland, we ARE the kids. So I totally understand your problem.

At work, every time someone enters my cubicle and says something stupid, I start playing the teacups music on my computer. I play the electrical parade music sometimes, but it makes me tear up every time. I miss Disneyland...
:sad1:

I have to update my post; I said that my husband said we would go back to DL in 5 years and a few people were shocked that I would have to wait 5 years. I should tell you, I will break him and we will probably be back in DL in 2008! The funny thing is once I break him and book a trip, he will complain but once he walks into the Paradise Pier Hotel he will realize that we could not wait 5 years to go back!

I am addicted completly..I got my DH addicted as well..I have gone every year since I was five and after I had my daughter we go once or twice a year..hopefully more..we are going back and taking our souvenior form our last trip last february..and that is a healthy baby boy! Ha I joked around with my DH that we can bring home a souvenoir..and wola..oo the poor kid..should have named him mickey :o) ..the stories of a lifetime...little does he know he is going back to were he was made..but we are so thrilled..i love DL..wanted to go sooner but had a newborn to care for..my DH told me that we are not bringing home a new sister this trip :o) my DD4 dresses as a princess daily..I was telling her about the PFF and she said mom, I already know how to be a princess because I am one..:wizard:
and magic does happen in the happiest place on earth!!
