Are you a fan of telenovelas? If so which ones? I like to test my limited Spanish language skills while watching some of them. They are commonly on the USA channels Unimas and Univision for those who wanted to try and see if they like them as well. If you don’t know Spanish, sometimes English subtitles are available in the SAP tv functions. I like to read a description of each episode in English before watching the episode in Spanish. That way, I have a general clue about what is happening in a scene and then can try to pick out key words in Spanish that will be easier to identify. Thoughts?

I used to watch one years ago - I really enjoyed it although my Spanish is very limited I didn’t have much trouble following it as I’ve watched enough soap operas in my life ! I can’t recall the name of it but I did eventually get the whole family hooked on watching it - we had great fun guessing about it and then watching to see if we were correct and picking up some Spanish

My mother is a telenovela fan and so was my grandmother and Mom and I used to watch telenovelas all the time so we could brush up on our Spanish. But I admit some of the telenovelas are weird and some of them have neat romantic storylines but if you look at today's telenovelas they all are obsessed with being set on a ranch and I remember when telenovelas used to be all romance

My grandmother loved telenovelas and got my mother and I started watching them and for me there is something that draws me in to telenovelas and I don't know if it's the romantic storylines or the awesome actors or a combination of both but there's something about telenovelas that really makes you enjoy them. Even though I wish they would put subtitles in English that would make people understand more about the telenovela. The other thing that my mom and I love about telenovelas is they have great theme songs in their intros and sometimes my mother and I buy the albums that have the theme songs in them because some of them are nice
