Are you a creature of habit or do you like new things?

DM & I have a list of resorts we want to try.

We did ASMO & POFQ on the first trip, this time it's ASMU and Poly. For a while we were booked at POFQ instead of ASMU and as crazy as it sounds, it just really bugged me because we'd already been to that one.

Next on the list : Beach Club !

When I saw the banner this morning, I thought about reading, but decided to go to the threads that I feel safe with. Then I got brave, but now, I'm a little worried.;) j/k My big change for this September is moving all the way from AS-Sports to AS-Music. Brave, ain't I?

We've tried different places, but ultimately go back to the same 2 or 3 resorts over and over again.

I am normally a creature of habit, but with disney I am forcing myself to try a new resort every time. I stayed at Polynesian first last August, so booked Coronado Springs for last october, and was worried that nothing would live up to the Poly. Ok it wasn't the Poly but it was still a lovely resort.
At the moment, i have a booking for December at Pop and Wilderness Lodge split stay, and I am aiming for AKL or POFQ for August (waiting for AP rates).

The main thing is i will be at WDW and if i really don't like the resort, well it doesn't matter as i will be at the parks most of the time:goodvibes

We really want to try everything, but when it comes down to the planning stage, we've stayed at POP, we had a great time at POP, so it doesn't seem to make sense to pay more for something else.

Your goal to stay at every hotel is a good one. We have been spending time at Disney since 1971, and have stayed at all hotels now on property (excluding the Value Resorts) and at some that are no longer available, such as the Golf Resort, Fairway Villas, & Treehouses at Disney Institute. Each hotel offers something different, and you will even find that the decor within each changes or gets a face lift.

In your quest, you should also try the Vacation Club Villas, which provide 1-3 bedroom accomodations with kitchen facilities. In fact, the Animal Kingdom is due to have villas starting this fall. Then there are the cabins at Fort Wilderness if you would like to "rough" it Disney style. Cabins have A/C full kitchen, 1 bedroom and bath, plus a pull-out.

Hope you reach your goal. I have reached mine, and had a lot of fun doing so.

We've stayed at the WL both times we've gone. I'm planning a trip for either this summer or next (was going to be next but we may move it up :yay: ) and I'm afraid to book another resort for fear the kids won't like it. Especially 14 yo DD, who says "we are Wilderness Lodge people!" (whatever that means). I've been thinking about the Poly or maybe BW...We have visited AKL and DS and I liked it, but DD thought it was out in the middle of nowhere. Mods and Values are out because 6'2" DH wants a queen sized bed.

Anybody switch resorts and have unhappy kids? Happy kids?

We are creatures of habit also. As much as we'd like to try the deluxes, and have actually made reservations when the budget allowed, we always wus out and change them back to POR. Not only can I not justify spending the extra $ on a deluxe, POR is perfect for us, so we keep going back. :thumbsup2

I have always been a creature of habit and will return to my favorite resorts over and over again but I have usually found that when I do try a new resort for whatever reason, I end up having a new favorite. :)

Hi,

I love trying new things... that is why we are going to the Polynesian this trip instead of the Wilderness Lodge.

~Simon :)

Total creatures of habit. DH will not stay anywhere other than a one-bedroom at BWV.

i dont like change but i think its because i love AKL !!
but on the other hand i want to try every resort and also i cant pay a lot for every trip-i try and go 3 times a year
so i tried the values
love assp !! 1st to get picked up and 1st to get dropped off on the bus
then we tried the mods
love pofq !!
i think we liked that more than akl :confused3
who knows-as long as we are there we're happy
so far we've done csr, akl, poly, assp, pop, pofq, cbr and the cabins

I always try to spice it up with something new.

I think that once I've tried them all, I'll decide on one that I'll want to go to again and again.

Until then, I'll have fun trying a new one everytime! :cool2:

Our first visit was in 1977 -- our boys were 5, 7, 9 years old. We stayed at the Contemporary for $65.00 a night & at that time we were thinking that was a LOT of money for a hotel room --- my how times & prices have changed. YES, we loved the Contemporary. Since then we have stayed at the Poly, Grand Floridian, Port Orleans, Wilderness Lodge, All Star Movie's, All Star Sports & Pop. We don't spend a lot of time at the resorts -- seem to be on the go all day. The value resorts have been a nice surpirse --- at first when we saw them - we thought that we would 'never' stay there. What a nice surpised they turned out to be. Clean, friendly staff, good selection in the food courts, no problem with the bus transportation.
The grandkids love the colorful icons. We now save the money that we would spend on the rooms & use it for other fun stuff!!!
We have 2 trips coming up --- one in October with some of the family
:eeyore: :tink: :goofy: pirate: :hippie: ::MinnieMo :earsgirl:
One in December for just Grandma & Grandpa to celebrate our 40th anniversary :love2:
We will be staying at Pop for both:cool1:
