Are We Wound a Little Too Tight Here Lately?

Just wondering if others think that it's a bit more serious than usual on the community forum. Sure, there's still fluff like usual, but there seems to be a chill in the air from more people, a lot of snippiness, snarkiness (no, not the #11 kind) and just more sniping.

If so, why? Are we all fed up with winter and ready for spring? Is it always this way this time of the year? Or do these things have their cycles? Something else going on? Or do I just have a vivid imagination? :teeth: Don't really think it's the imagination part, though, because I've read enough other comments on other threads, not to mention the fact that I don't have much of an imagination for that sort of thing and generally have to be clobbered on the head with a 2x4 to get this sort of thing. :rotfl:

What do you wise DISers (and not wise ones--don't want to limit it to the wise DISers ;) ) think?

I think some people might be a bit to wound up, this lagging winter probably has a lot to do with it. April is almost here, where is spring?

I'll admit, I get snippy, but only on the political debate threads, and with the knowledge that those with whom I get snippy, are expected get snippy back. All of the Libs and Conservative posters on those threads kind of relish in the debates and I hope that noone takes any of it personally.

Now there have been times recently, where I have posted on other, non-controversial, Disney related threads and have been followed over by posters who want to continue the spirited, sometimes harsh, debate about current events onto a thread where we're talking about Expedition Everest, or something like that. I hate it when that happens, because it ruins the thread for everyone else.

I think if you go back into the archives you'll find someone asked the same question a few years ago. :rotfl:

It does go in cycles, but it isn't any better or worse that it ever was, at least not in the context of the bigger picture: People, in general, are more snippy and snarky than they've ever been. If anything, though online forums may have gotten there first, real life has come on strong over the last few years, and may have surpassed the online experience for snippiness and snarkiness.

I think its been tense here lately. I think we all need a time out.

I dont know if I would call it snippiness, but I would like to see some people get off their high horse sometimes. The "I am a perfect parent in a perfect marriage with perfect finances" is a bit sickening. :goodvibes

This is why sometimes I have to step back and take a break from the Dis.

I just ignore the people who are so wound up. I learned my lesson a while ago. My favorite being the thread that debated whether or not plus sized kids deserved to wear pants. :rotfl:

:coffee: snarky & snippy, film @ 11.

I revel in my imperfections, they define me.

I have seen a good number of strange threads, but that sounds like a top five for sure. :scratchin :confused3 :lmao:

An unwiseDIS'er weighing in. Speaking for me, I just want to go outside and play! I bet when it warms up and folks get out to their gardens etc. and spend some of their free time outdoors and away from the computer, you will find the general tone here will lighten up. :sunny:

A "weighty" issue for sure. IMO, all overweight people (myself included) deserve to wear pants, especially in public.:lmao:

Sorry I missed that classic. Ranks right up there w/pool hopping, creative use of dining credits & stuffing 6 people in a Value resort room.:rolleyes2

...feeling' snarky, know I am.:stir:

Try this, and I know I am posting from my high horse, but stick with me...turn, drink, swallow, turn back, read the next message.
Common sense is wasted on me! ;)

Don't make me laugh! My stomach & head aren't ready for such activity.
