Are we still getting soaked on Pirates of the Carribean?

If you're afraid of getting wet, then throw on a poncho just in case. Won't help your shoes but at least your clothes will be dry.

We rode last night. Late at night, had our own boat, with 2 per row. Person on right mid boat got splashed by the cannon, but virtually no splash from the drop.

On splash mountain, I wear my stylish poncho. That is an option if you want to ride, but don't want to risk getting wet.

For those saying you got soaked, please define "soaked". Not being snarky, but it's a subjective thing. To me, soaked means a full wave of water hitting you, like Kali used to do. When you get off the ride, you need to wring out your clothes, and you're dripping wet. The most I've ever seen or felt at PoC is having some larger spots of wet splatter on my lower shirt or pants. Never to the point of being dripping wet.

klayfish-- When I rode last November, my shorts got thoroughly soaked.... as in not a dry spot on them except for my left cargo pocket (I have no idea how that happened, but thank goodness bc that's the pocket my phone was in!). I was soaked through to my underwear. I was sitting in the very last row on the right side (I was the first one to get in). I didn't get wet on the drop. I got wet when the boat behind us went down the drop and pushed a wave of water over the right edge of my boat. My feet also got soaked (meaning no dry spots on my keens). I "squished" when I first got out of the boat and water was dripping down my legs.

Thanks for asking about this! :-)

It had been a wet mess in the past yr or so. I'm also really happy to hear that it seems to be better now.

Great. Now I will definitely book FP+ for it; we avoided PoC in late 2015 because of the soaking.

We rode it 4 times over the past week and never got wet. We sat front row, back row and in the middle. None of the boats looked wet either.

When we were there last November there was standing water in the bottom of the boat. This problem looks like it was resolved.

Think my definition is close to yours. Last year, I was placed in the front seat with 2 other adults (so 3 adults on the bench) & had a mouthful of water, half my head drenched in a wave of water & major hairdo fail. My butt was wet (water through shorts & underwear) and my legs and feet were soaked through from the knees down. My shoes were squishing water. I had to take off my shoes, wring out my socks, and then bag the socks because they were that wet. I was better off than the couple beside me. They were wet through and through total body. After that thrill, I politely asked to ride somewhere in the last 2 seats of the boat and just had partial wet feet/socks from standing/sloshing water and partial wet butt from the seat. Only slight splashing from the actual ride.

We rode over Easter and the seat and floor were bone dry both when we entered and when we exited the boat, as were we. We are three small to mid-sized adults that were sitting in a middle row.

It sounds like it's just random. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't.

:confused3 Beats the daylights out of me. Been on it so many times and never had it happen. From what I'm reading, sounds fairly random. I'd bet it has something to do with weight distribution and total overall weight in the boat, but that's just a guess.

Yes, I was soaked and a full wave of water did come over the boat and yes I went to the bathroom afterwards and wrung out all of my clothes.

Wow never came close to even getting wet on this ride. I even rode it multiple times in a row. I always wondered why there was some wetness in the boats.

I definitely wouldn't want to get that ride-water in my mouth or even on me...doesnt seem very sanitary to me vs Kali River Rapids or Splash Mountain
