Are we still getting soaked on Pirates of the Carribean?

We went post refurbishment and we did not get soaked. We were not in front row, but I don't remember the front row getting soaked either. The seats were a little wet, but no soaking for us.

I just went in July. I rode in the very back row and the only water that got on me was from a "cannonball" splash. The seat was mostly dry when I got on the ride.

ok great it sounds like they fixed it - that was a mess getting soaked on this ride, can you imagine...

We were soaked in late June. We sat in the first row....got hit at the bottom of the drop, and by a cannonball.

You will get wet if you get hit by the cannonball. I've been hit twice this past week and it's a pretty big splash.

When have we ever been soaked by PoC? We've been on that ride at least 40 times since 2006 (it's DS12s favorite) and nobody has ever gotten more than sprinkled with water by a cannon shot or a few drops from "the drop". What am I missing? :confused3

We were on in late June and didn't get soaked at all (but then we were further back)

We rode in July. I was on the right hand side of the middle of the boat and got mightily splashed. Not sure at which point it happened, but I freaked out since my phone was in my pocket (it was fine, but my whole side was wet).

Just wondering as I do not enjoy being soaked with the luxurious and great smelling Florida water!

There is a sign when you enter saying you might get wet. It seems to be happening less but it can happen and the ride warning says so.. plan on your getting wet and protect your electronics.

I also noticed that the water doesn't smell as sulfur-y as it did before. The water fountain water especially...except, for some reason, by the Rapunzel bathrooms.

We are at Disney now. Rode PoC this morning. All four of us adults were put in the front row (uncomfortable!). We got soaked! I think it depends what the weight is in the front of the boat as you hit the bottom of the hill.

Nothing is "fixed", Disney posted a sign you might get wet and we have a experienced about 50/50 on getting wet and have gotten in to standing water in boat. Seems no way to predict as I think it has to do with boat weight/distribution, timing of boats going down fall, water level and pixie dust.

Us too! We were in the second to last row and no one in our boat got wet from the drop but DH and I (mostly me) got pretty wet from the "cannonball" splash. I had one very wet foot! LOL, it wasn't awful and I was dry quickly. I was imagining way worse before we rode for the first time since the refurbishment!

Some reports people have posted that they or people in their boat have been soaked, mainly from the drop. Speculation on it is that it was caused when the new boats were brought in and weight management was not right.

I'm in your boat though (pun intended), we ride it a bunch and we or anyone else in our boat has never been soaked. Most I've seen is some legs get wet

From the above posts, sounds like not much has changed from last Fall :worried:
What I did then to avoid getting soaked was I asked the CM politely at boat loading to NOT be seated in the front 2 seats but toward the back of the boat. The CMs were good with this and fit me in toward the back. I had a bit of splashing but not the full face & foot soaking I had experienced earlier. This may work for others? Worth the chance. Old saying: if you don't ask, you don't get.

I can vouch for getting SOAKED on this ride. We were front row seat and when we went down the little drop at the beginning we had a tidal wave come over the boat. I literally had to wring my shorts and underwear out afterwards!!!
