I figured with all the regulars here, someone might either smack me, or say, GO FOR IT! Here it is in a nutshell. My wife, daughter, mother and I just returned from a 7 day trip to DW last Thursday. Yep, we had and awesome time!

Cut to the chase. We had been toying with the idea of going again this year, but definitely next April again. Well, I’ve been “toying” on the Disney site, and decided to check out the hotels and dates for the free dining plan. (Thanks to these boards I even knew about it)! I setup a mock trip for 6 days, 5 nights, August 26th through September 1st at the Caribbean Beach Resort. (We stayed at All Star Movie last week). One of the reasons I picked this resort, is one, it looks really nice for the price, and two, we had talked about spending some time swimming and lodging it etc. Anway, I setup a whole package, including the free dining, and it comes to right around $1,400 for the week, plus, a non stop flight from our local airport, and return trip, for $539! This is under $2000 for another dream vacation in 4 months! We HAD been planning on maybe doing a beach trip, and were thinking of spending $12-1400 for that. When I saw the price with the dining included, I nearly clicked the “book it” button. (I have it saved now).

So how about it DIS boarders? Anyone go to Disney that close together, 4 months approx., and not think they were crazy? I think we really want to do this! Lastly, my daughter starts kindergarten the 1st week of September, so this would be a great time to go to not have to take her out of school within the first few weeks!

Oh yeah, for any in the know. Any reason to worry about hurricanes down there that time of year?

I say go for it!! It will be like a whole other experience. You have upgraded your resort and you will be getting free dining.
As far as the hurricanes go, it's hit or miss. I have been twice those exact dates and the first time we were in between 2 HUGE hurricanes and the second time we got out just in time for one to hit. Last year at that time it was very uneventful. Just make sure you are keeping a close eye on the weather weeks before.
Keep us updated on what you decide!

Not too many people here would tell you not to!!:goodvibes If you can afford it and you'd rather do Disney than the beach I say go for it! If you want to make the cost even more in-line with your beach trip you could go to a value resort.

I was just there at the beginnig of April and already booked for the beginnning of June, I live in Miami so it's really not that bad of a trip or too expensive but we love it!

GO FOR IT!!

Hehe, that's why I asked here. ;) But seriously; One of the reasons we started thinking about Disney AGAIN was that we are finding going to a beach like resort, i.e. somewhere in the Bahamas, Mexico etc., will actually cost us quite a bit more than going back to Disney, where we can do it ALL!

Ack! I can't take it.......want to make a decision while everything we want is still available.......Will shoot for the end of this week :goodvibes

Thanks again all for the responses!

If you like disney, and want to go back again, I say "go for it!" Our family was there in mid-March, and when we got back my DH and I decided to go back for our anniversary, adults only!!.....IN MAY !!! Yes, our trips will be 2 months exactly apart! My DH asked, "What will people say about us?" My answer was, "Who cares?".

We leave in 9 days!!!

Your thinking of staying at the Carribean Beach Resort right? Then that is your beach vacation technically speaking! Who cares if it is in Disney and not Mexico, Carribean, etc. Go for it!

Our thoughts exactly!!!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2

OK, now you guys are making me feel better. :grouphug: And that is absolutely awesome! :thumbsup2

We went in Feb and my husband told me not to ask to go again for 2 years! Imagine my surprise and elation when he told me last week, "I want to go to Disney!" :thumbsup2 The only times that work for us coming up are 4th of July week and the first week in October so we have tentatively decided to go in Oct. No free dining for us, but that's ok! We stayed at Carribean Beach for our honeymoon and loved it. If you like a beach theme I think you will enjoy it. We especially loved watching the Epcot fireworks from a hammock on the beach! We stayed at All-Star Sports last time, and while it was great, we much preferred Carribean Beach and are going to stay in a moderate (or possibly Deluxe depending on if we can get a deal!) next time. We think it is worth the extra expense if you plan on spending time at your hotel. So obviously I say go for it!!! Glad to know there are others that are having problems staying away from disney also!!!:goodvibes

For some of us on here, there's no such thing as "too much Disney"! I went the first week of Feb., then turned around and booked another trip soon after and went the third week of April. Soon as I got home from that one, I started thinking about another one!!! Haven't booked it yet, but if I go in December, it'll be the first time I've been three times in one year...and I love it!!!

My fiance and I are going in about a week and half and then we're going again the beginning of December for our honeymoon. So what's that 6.5 months in between the two trips.:bride: :groom:

We have done this a number of times in the past and always purchased an annual pass to keep prices down. You will find the weather hot (but you can always get some relief at Disney) but the lines will be much shorter. 3/4 of the country is back in school. I remember leaving in August to go down and saw 4 hurricanes lined up in the Atlantic (none of which ever made it to land) It is a real good time to be there with no actual guarantee of not getting hit with some bad weather (daily afternoon thunder storms) but don't let that scare you. The price is right and WDW is always awesome. Unfortunately, we will be there this year too early for the dining plan.
Book it and enjoy.

I say go for it. It sounds like you love disney. If you want to go who am I to say no. Just i would do different things than you did on your last trip to have a new Disney experience .

last year I went to a Disney Convention by NFFC and met Tinker Bell in Sept/Oct (last/first weekend) then I went again in Dec. for Mousefest...I had a blast each time and did things I wouldn't normally do...If you go the last weekend in Sept. you might want to go to this site:www.NFFC.org They have all kinds of great things going on to Celebrate the annual birthday of the opening of WDW!!!

Year before last we took our regular June vacation to WDW and had a blast. When they extended the free dining plan to the fall, I did just as you did and toyed with some dates in October. I ended up booking a trip to coinside with my sons fall break. For us free time + money = WDW.

So if you are crazy, you are not alone.

Absolutely not crazy! Last year we did May (for Ds' birthday) and when free dining was announced we did September (for my birthday)! Between 9/30/05 and 9/30/06 we went 3 times for a total of 21 days!

Enjoy yourselves!

We took a family trip in January (me, dh, DS and DD).

The week we got back, I booked a 10th anniversary trip for DH and I for September.

I just booked a free dining trip for my son and I (he is a Disney freak!) for August.

We will be going back early 2008 as a family as well (but will likely stay off site, guess we have to use that timeshare sometime lol).

So, 4 times in 12 months?

Yeah, we are nuts, but it makes me happy! :)

Thanks to this site, Disney, and all the Disney fanatics here as well......We booked it!!!!!!!!!!!

We even added an additional day, Saturday August 25th, and start the "package" on the 26th. The wife decided she wanted a full 5 days there rather than the initial 4 full, so going Saturday through Friday is what were doing. We'll have to pay for meals on Saturday, but hey, with the free dining the rest of the week, it will be more than worth it.

Thanks again all, and as I seem to be hanging out here more and more, I'm sure I'll be around even MORE often now! :cool1:
