My fiance and I are getting married at WDW Nov. 22, 2003 and are planning on spending the week of Thanksgiving at Disney. I would love to spend Fri - Sun after Thanksgiving at Universal (on property) but am not sure if it will be worth it even with FOLP due to the crowds. Does anyone have experience?

Our thought is to check in Friday and tour through Sunday. My Fiance has not been to Universal and it's been several years since I have - before IOA was opened.

Any comments would be appreciated!

Thanks

Julie

Thanks for posting this. I too would like to know as we are thinking of adding days on to the front of our Disney trip to do US & IOA this would have us coming in that same weekend. I was hoping that maybe if we went on Sunday and Monday that the crowds might be better because people will be leaving to go home. Will this be any better crowd wise?

I also would like to know. I have ressies for Sat & Sun nite at RPR before I check into the Dolphin. I've never been to Universal before, never mind it being a holiday weekend.

Thanks!!! :bounce:

No, you aren't too crazy...as long as you are staying at an onsite hotel (you'll need those room keys...it'll be pretty busy).

BUT Word of caution: Go to Disney first! I do not believe you get any perks like unlimited express pass for staying there. There are what they call "Fast Passes" I believe, but you are limited just like if you were at Universal getting the regular express passes at the express booths. If you use the room keys to get in the express line, you'll feel spoiled and when you go to Disney; being able to tolerate the long lines...harder. Much harder. You'll be used to the shorter lines and you most likely won't have that privilege at Disney.

Go to Universal AFTER Disney if possible, but if you can't, no big deal! So if you stay at a hotel, you should have less of a problem with long lines.

Hope that helped! :)

We went just before thanksgiving last year and had a great time with almost no one there at all... i mean there was absolutely no wait on most attractions... it was great... I would suggest going around this time... its not to cold to ride wet stuff either.... it was great

It's only one of the busiest weekends of the year. Last year, HRH was completely booked out for the Thanksgiving weekend. And the lines will be long, even with express. But you wont have to wait 60 mins for stuff. Just up to 15-20.

We went last Thanksgiving and it really wasn't too bad. AS long as you are on site there shouldn't be a problem. In fact, we are going back the same time this year.
