we are going to be at WDW this july 4th. we have never been here for the 4th and wanted to experience the greatness of this holiday at WDW but are not sure what park to go to. my heart and my nostalgic side wants to be at MK but i know that MK is insanely crowded that day.

just how bad is it on the 4th. i know that we really wont get to go on many rides due to the crowds but we just want to be there for the fireworks.

so are just a crazy bunch of loons or are we going to really be in for an experience that we will never forget.

i would love it if anyone who has been there for the 4th would share their experience with me.

We've been several times for the 4th of July, including this past July 4th!!! It is a GREAT time to visit!!! Use early entry, fast passes, and be sure to get in an afternoon break - and you'll be fine!!

We've been to Magic Kingdom on July 4th, only in the morning though, and it wasn't that crowded! However, when we took our afternoon nap/swim break, we went to Epcot! This past July 4th, we spent the morning & evening at Epcot!! The fireworks show is absolutely the BEST!!!! Illuminations is wonderful too!!!!

Enjoy your time at Disney!!!!!

I think Epcot would be better than MK on July 4th as far as the crowds go. You can see the normal MK fireworks on another night during your trip. I think Epcot would probably be the most manageable park on the 4th.

It wasn't the crowds that bothered us over the July 4th holiday. It was the heat. Be prepared and take those afternoon breaks!

We were there in July '03. We had a great time. We went to MK on the 4th. Had a PS for Cindy's at 8am and we were in Fantasyland by 9. We got a lot done with being there early and using Fastpass. It didn't get really crowded until around noonish. We left and then came back for the fireworks and the parade. I would do it again. I have to warn you, it will ruin your next 4th of July. I was bumming this year because no amount of fireworks compares to being in the Magic Kindgom for the 4th. I think we will have to go again this summer.

We were there July 4,2003. We didnt go to MK. We started the day in MGM and then in Epcot. The American pavilion in Epcot was really cool. The fife and drum band and the American vibe performers made it a very special day. We had a PS for narcossees for dinner and watched the amazing fireworks. It was unforgetable cant wait to go back on the 4th again

We were at MGM this past 4th of July and last 4th of July. It was not that bad, crowded but manageable. We stayed to see the fireworks (they only have them there on the 4th and I think one other time). We sat around for 1 1/2 hours and the fireworks were only about 5 or 10 minutes.

Go, it definately is a must at least one. all the fireworks shows and the special events, it is wonderful. It is crowded, hot and all that, but it doesn't matter. Very very worth it.

A little crazy due to the crowds and heat but never too crazy when planning a trip to Disney. I would go anytime! Just be ready for some REALLY hot and HUMID weather. The crowds are intense, as well. But hey, you're on vacation, HAVE FUN!!!

We went July 4, 2002 and 2003 and it was so crowded at MK, we left MK and did MGM both times and it was manageable, you couldn't even move in MK and all the fast passes were gone for the night at 5:00pm, so there wasn't much that you could do while waiting for the fireworks. I liked the fireworks at MGM.
