Are we "Chavs" for flying Virgin?

When we were talking to Stephen's brother about going to Disney this Spetmebre he said that we were Chavs for flying Virgin. Bit of an arguement actually - I cant see why flying Virgin makes you a Chav.

Thats a stupid comment, I know lots of people who fly Virgin and they are not "Chavs". Could he be jealous that you are going & not him?

Anyway does it matter who you fly with as long as it gets you there and its cheap

Stephens brother says that "British Airways" is the only way to fly - he flies everywhere with them. He says that they attract a much "better crowd" than Virgin - he calls people who travel Virgin the "Shell-suit and Burberry Brigade"...

well bully for him, as someone who flies with whoever comes out best on price and times I think his loyalty is more than a little bizarre.
maybe its his way of boasting he has a frequent flier membership he probably thinks that makes him special.

We usually fly BA but having lost all our suitcases on our trip 14 days ago it will take a lot to fly with them again I have always wanted to fly with virgin and would never class it for Chavs!!!!

I know many people who fly BA and they're not all ignorant name-callers.

I don't think posts like this have a place on the DIS. There are plenty of forums out there which do welcome such "discussion".
