Are WDW area Targets giving Red Card discounts on Disney gift cards?

No, there was an update to the Target .com website on Friday night/Saturday morning. It is no longer allowing a 5% discount on any specialty GC, regardless of whether you pay with your REDCard or with a Target GC.

i bought pants though... so im guessing its on everything...

Before, u were able to get the 5% discount and use the gift cards to pay for it, now it doesnt let you do that. I think u need to have some charge your card to get the 5% now...

Interesting! I just ordered some a couple weeks ago so that must be new. If there isn't a minimum amount they require that has to hit your card, I'd just finagle it so that just a tiny bit hits your card.

NOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Say it isn't so!!!!!!!! This was one way that I ALWAYS could count on saving at least 9% on my trips! UGH!

So you are saying that when buying regular merchandise, such as pants, you also didn't get the 5% off unless you put it on your red card?
I still see the discount when I add non-GC merchandise to my cart. The discount is only applied to those items and not the GC,

yeah, i purchased a $50 gc to buy 2 pants @ $40. It tells me that the gc has enough to cover the item and credit section, im unable to click on to add credit card. This was done on sat night.

Marionette confirms differently, so idk whats going on then... :\

Maybe it's because you're using a Redbird card? I thought that they discontinued them? I'm using my REDCard charge card as my default form of payment.

So for what it is worth to everyone - given that the Red Card no longer works, the only way I know of to save anything off Disney GC's to pay for your trips is to buy them from Sam's Club where you will get 5% off. They sell them in $50, 3 pack of $50, & $500. Here is a link:http://www.samsclub.com/sams/search...sney+gift+card&fromHome=yes&_requestid=781578

well, u can use chase freedom now, which gives u 5 URpts @ sams club right now till June...
or you can use a Ink Plus, which gives u 5 UR pts using gyft method.
both will net u 10% off.

Should also note that if you aren't already a member, you do have to sign up and I believe it is about $45/year. so it may or may not be worth your while.

Yeah, that would be one way...if you have a Sam's membership. There are others, but they're complicated.

cheaper if u wait for a groupon deal... :P $45, u get $20 gc, then u get a bunch of random goodies...

Chase credit cards. UR =Ultimate Rewards. Those that earn them are Chase Unlimited, Chase Freedom, Chase Sapphire Card, and Business Ink Plus.
Chase Freedom is a rotating category 5% earning, 1st quarter - Gas, 2nd quarter groceries, 3rd quarter restaurants, 4th quarter amazon. currently, Wholesale warehouse is part of the groceries earning, so buy a $50gc for $47.50, u earn 237 pts. every 10,000pts = $100. This will limit u down to 3 months a year though.
Business Ink Plus - requires some sort of business though, ymmv. it gives u 5x on Office Supply stores, however, i use a site called gyft where u buy gc online and u can use them online/instores... I just discovered yesterday that the walmart gc can also be used @ sams club. (untested, i havent bought a gc with a gc though)

these pts are better at redeeming travel tickets though, maybe u can use them at a higher redemption rate on airline tickets...

Thanks for all the great info - I will have to look into these! I do currently have a Chase Southwest card, that I use for most purchases, and to pay bills, so I always have more than enough points to pay for our flights - haven't paid for flights in 2 years (well, there is a small fee of like $12 each roundtrip, but I hardly count that!).
Thanks again! Every little bit counts!!
