Are WDW area Targets giving Red Card discounts on Disney gift cards?

Has anyone had any "recent" experience purchasing Disney gift cards and getting the 5% discount with the Debit Red Card? I'm assuming you can get 5% discount there also. Also any problems with them running out of gift cards? Thanks!

That is a corporate policy. So I don't see why not if they are in stock.

I do this all the time. Buy discounted Target gift cards, then use them online in my target account to order Disney gift cards for an additional 5% savings. I've never purchased them in store though, so can't speak to that. The only minor issue i've run into on occasion is either the $50 or $100 are out of stock on line and so I had to just keep checking back for them to be restocked. Totally worth it imo.

How or where do you buy discounted Target gift cards? or are referring to churning gift cards? Thanks!

I'm not 100% sure I understand the term "churning" GC's, but I use sites like Raise.com, or other discounted GC warehouses to buy the discounted Target cards. Can usually find them for 4-8% off, add to that the 1.5% cash back my credit card gives me & the 5% the Redcard account give me & I save between 10.5 - 14.5% off my Disney Gift cards :)

i do something similar except my CC gives me 5% off gyft.com cards. Then i apply them over to target. I thought u need some charge onto the redbird card but apparently you dont. I was able to get the 5% off even though it did not charge my red bird card at all.

Yeah - I also would have thought you'd need to at least have a small bit of your purchase hit the Red card to get the 5% off, but you sure don't! I saved about $600 last year doing this! :)

So if I'm understanding you correctly (I want to make sure I'm not missing something :) )...you used a Target gift card (without a Target Redcard purchase) on an order on-line, and you got 5% off just for using the Target GIFT card only? I thought the only way to get 5% off with a Redcard. One more question if the gift card gave you the discount, did you go straight to the Target website or thru a credit card portal?

One more question, is your Target account thru a Target Credit Card or just the Debit Card? I only have a Debit Redcard?

No worries - this kind of stuff is tricky business for sure. So to clarify - I do have a Target Red card & it is set up as my default payment in my online Target account. I then take the discounted Target GC's I got from Raise & plug them into my account at Target.com. I add Disney GC's to my cart (they have a limit on both the $50 (4 is the limit) and the $100 (3 is the limit) & instead of using my Target Red card to purchase the Disney cards, I use the Target GC's and it STILL gives me the 5% red card discount! Hopefully this makes sense :)

Super! Thank you for restating it for my poor 'ol brain on tax day!:teacher: Oh I'm done with taxes. But I still have tax brain left overs.

mines a prepaid red card... but all the benefits are the same...
Really?! That's awesome, I'm wanting to try churning but I didn't want to open a new credit line (hoping to build a new house soon). Thanks for this tip!!!

Absolutely! Another bit that might be useful to know...I noted that Target will only allow you to order 4/$50 & 3/$100 Disney GC's per order, BUT you can place multiple consecutive orders without issue. I've done this before when I needed about $3k to pay off a trip. Also, so as not to burden my TA with keying in 50 GC #'s, I use the https://disneygiftcard.com site to key them in onto a few large denomination cards (I think there is a 1k max per card) that I use as my "Masters" if you will. That way my TA just has to deal with a few card #'s.

Why do you say that? The Disney cards are out of stock online right now, but I've seen nothing indicating the red card discount won't work any longer??

Before, u were able to get the 5% discount and use the gift cards to pay for it, now it doesnt let you do that. I think u need to have some charge your card to get the 5% now...

No, there was an update to the Target .com website on Friday night/Saturday morning. It is no longer allowing a 5% discount on any specialty GC, regardless of whether you pay with your REDCard or with a Target GC.
