Are these "owned" by Disney? Chance of NOT making the 15 Plan?

I've read that restaurants not "owned" by Disney might not choose to join the dining plan until later in the year.

I noticed the following are not on the '15 plan, but were in '14. I assumed these were Disney owned because they are in the parks. Perhaps I'm wrong? What is the likelihood they WOULDN'T be added to the plan in 15? I'm afraid to book and then have them not part of the plan and not be able to get a reservation elsewhere. Thanks! (I book my ADRs next week)

Nope, all third party. It is almost certain that they will be on the 2015 plan though.

All the restaurants in Mexico, France, China, Morocco, Japan and Italy are third party.

Most certainly they will be added in. A lot of third party restaurants don't get added until the end of the year.

And the third parties/disney do this every year.

Sometime in January you will see all the third parties added.

Just make the ADRs you want 99.99% of the time the third parties will sign the next years contract.

You would think disney would make them do 2-3 year contracts.

This happens every year, but since the start of the dining plan only one restaurant has dropped out of the program and it is now back in it. Just go ahead and book the restaurants you want.

Thanks for posting this -- I had made reservatiofor my first time ever using the dining plan (I had a MYW reservation and then Stay/Play/Dine came out and net I saved $16 adding in dining). I picked restaurants we love from prior trips. We love Epcot and we made reservations there. So I was disappointed to see La Hacienda and Tokyo Dining not listed when they were last year. But, now I understand -- thanks fo rposting.

I know this thread has past but in case someone is looking for research purposes, Tokyo Dining is on the 2015 DDP brochure. You have to scroll down, QS, Table and Signature Restaurants are on separate pages. I made the same mistake before I noticed there was more pages. HTH
