Are there signs at the rides/attractions with age suggestions?

My DD's will be 4 and 2 when we are at WDW. We are first timers and not sure which rides are appropriate for their ages and which to avoid.

No, there is nothing pertaining to age at the rides, just height requirements (if any).

I would strongly suggest you pick up a copy of the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World. It has tons of info on age groups and what rides/attractions were liked best or worst by preschoolers, school age, teens, etc. Really handy book for that sort of thing! Also has something called the "Fright Factor," which describes any potential scary moments for little ones and what to expect.

All the rides do say if there is something loud or scary. Also height limits but I don't think I have ever seen anything about age.
I would suggest getting the Birnbaums WDW guide for kids by kids. It gives really great descriptions of the rides and ratings by real kids and tells which are scary, etc.... You can also take a look at the ride descriptions on this site and others and see pictures and know if your kids will be OK trying it or not. I know what my kids tolerance levels are so I had no problem taking them in th Haunted Mansion when they were babies! That is their favorite attraction! Here's a link that might help you out:

I strongly second this! This book was invaluable when we were going with toddlers.
