Are there resorts that DON'T participate in Free Dining?

Thinking about booking our September trip now in anticipation of the fall free dining promo and hoping to add the discount later. Historically, have there been resorts that didn't offer any rooms for FD? For example, if we book CSR now and call after FD is released to get the promotion added to our ressie, I know there's a possibility that there wouldn't be any FD rooms left if they've all been spoken for already. But is there a chance that there would never have been any at that resort at all?

Does this question even make sense? I don't want to play "resort scramble" after FD comes out -- I'd really like to have my ressie in place and update it as soon as FD is released. If there are resorts that have been difficult to get FD in the past, or resorts that simply don't have FD rooms at all, I'll eliminate them from my possibilities right now.

Thanks!

From what I recall all resorts are included. For the most part, since Values are the better deal with FD those, at times may fill up quicker and you may not get to pick the exact one you want. One time this happened to us (wanted music)POP and sports avail in am. When I called back that afternoon to book POP, Music was avail! I would just book as soon as Free dining comes out, or you can book now and hope it comes.

I do wonder with the latest press release from Iger if they will even have free dining going forward. (the scaling back of discount comments he made).

I think (and I'm not exactly "in the know," just speculating) that they'll offer the standard free dining from late Aug through early Oct and maybe bump it down so Value stays get QSDP, Mods and up get DDP. I think the comment about scaling back refers more to the remainder-of-the-year free dining that was offered in '09 -- I doubt they'll do that again. But bounceback and UK are already set for FD so I'm guessing they'll keep the original dates, just to boost attendance during that typically slow, back-to-school, hurricane-filled time. Just my 2cents but it's what I'm banking on...I guess we'll all know for sure once April rolls around.

Thanks again, disneyfan -- you always seem to have the answers I need! :thumbsup2

You're welcome!! Glad I could help. One thing that they have done with these last two offers (4/7 and the giftcards) is make you buy length of stay tickets for the offer- not just a 1 day like past offers have been. It kind of deters AP holders completely from these offers.
