We are leaving for our trip tomorrow. DH is having surgery the morning after we return. He recently has had a couple of elevated blood pressure readings, probably due to his pain and the upcoming surgery and trip plans. His doctor wants him to check his blood pressure every couple of days while we are gone so that he can monitor and make sure it stays down before the surgery.

Are there any places in WDW to check blood pressure -- like the places they have at Walgreens where you do it yourself?

Why not just bring your own monitor. They are simple to use and I have found them to be accurate.

I would be REALLY surprised if the first aid stations did not have blood pressure cuffs. They're staffed by RN's.

I had to monitor my BP during pregnancy and for $20 I go an automatic BP cuff at CVS. Its super easy to use and will record your pressures for you.

The nurses are not permitted to do any routine medical procedures unless it is an emergency situation. They are there primarily for First Aid and not for routine needs.

Thanks for the info. We just found out this info today regarding the need to check DH's blood pressure every other day during the trip. We leave in the morning. I guess we'll be stopping at CVS or Walgreens on the way to the airport and picking up a blood pressure cuff. He's having hip replacement surgery at 5:30am the morning after we return home.

I know there's a Walgreens right ouside the resort-for that you'd need your own car. Go out Hotel Boulevard in Downtown Disney, turn left, and go a couple miles. Walgreens will be on your left.

Or just call the hotel operator and get the phone number for Turner Drug.

For $5, they deliver anything they stock.

If your DH is having B/P issues the automatic cuffs will really help you..be sure to monitor at differant times of the day to see if there are changes, etc. Hope your trip is great!
