Are there normally sales for President's Day flights to Orlando?

My DH has a company meeting at Wyndham, by WDW, on Presidents weekend. I was looking up flights last night and don't like what I see.

The cheapest is Delta for $230, for odd times. The preferred routes are around $300-400/person. To complicate matters, we have $444 in travel vouchers from United that I would like to use. I had planned on getting almost 2 trips out of these but it doesn't look good. We don't usually travel on United (they don't have the best routes to our fav places) and need to use these vouchers by June, 2002.

Since this is now a popular time to go to WDW, will there be sales? I am strongly considering waiting it our.

Any suggestions? thoughts?

Hi Claudia - since i teach, we always have to go during this President's Week and the airfares traditionally are higher. For next year, the airfares are looking higher - this may have to do with the fact that it is a highly traveled week. Keep looking, never can tell what might happen. We did get our tickets a few months back. Good luck.

My experience is that airfares for President's Weekend (Friday and some flights on the Thursday before) and the Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday after President's Day are quite a bit higher than the rest of February. Try changing the days you leave and return. You might be able to find something you can live with. Also, I think it is a bit early for any February sales. If you have to go on the "popular days", it's probably best to buy now - and maybe get a voucher if the fare does go down. If you can vary your departure and return days, I'd wait for a sale. We're also going at this time, and I'm waiting/hoping for a sale. Good luck to both of us!

Fares are high for that time frame right now because the sales for that time of year have not come out yet. you have too much before then for them to be out now. you can either buy your tkt now and then when the fare goes down get the refund voucher or you may wait and buy the tkt later. the choice is yours. Be aware that a lot of people go to fl during the presidents week. some of the flights are booked close to 50% already.

I suspect if you wait you're more likely to see the flights you want sold out then finding a good sale (on the days and times you want).

You have almost no chance of getting a sale fare for a return date of Monday Feb. 18 .
That's the date everybody tries to come home on and get their kids back to school on Tues.

I lucked out and got mine for next Feb. with the Monday Feb 18th return date for $137 RT total from MSP. Purchased last July. First time in 3 years that I've been able to get seats on President's day Monday for a price that I would pay.
