What booking category are the ground floor rooms? Lake view and standard view? Which would offer more opportuity for a LV room> I am not a big fan of heights and after looking at some photos I see that I might have a balcony I do not even want to sit on! Are the ground floor rooms very noisy?

Thanks for any help you may provide:goodvibes

Have you thought about staying at VWL? BLT is a view resort and most Guests want to be on a upper floor.

VWL has some great rooms and you are only a short boat ride away from the MK.

So far all reports seem to be that the ground floors are standard view category. Standard view can also be on the 2nd and 3rd floor as well. Maybe even 4th floor in a few cases.

Thanks for the reponses.:goodvibes

I think I will go on the wait list for standard view! We love the VWL, but wanted to be able to walk to the MK. We have stayed in every WDW resort and our favorite room (non DVC) was Garden View CR, ground floor. We walked right out of our room onto the grass which led to the beach. EWP every night and the absolute best view (IMO) at WDW.

I think I will call and see if there are are any ground floor LV rooms at BLT....or if I should be on the waiting list for SV. Does anyone know if I might find this information online? I know I have seen a BWV diagram with views color coded?

We were in a ground floor standard view room a couple of weeks ago. It was a fantastic location, we were at the end of the hall, near the pool. When we sat on our deck we were actually right at the bocci ball courts. The kids were able to go out and play bocci and shuffle and we could sit right there and see everything. While we could not really see the lake, we could just walk out of our room a few steps and see enough of the lake to see the water parade. It was a great location and I loved being on the ground floor.

First floor is standard view only, request ground floor as standard view can go up to the 3rd floor.

EXCELLENT information in this post! Thanks so much. We looked at a ground floor room when we visited BLT immediately after our purchase (just dropped by to take a look at our new "home"). It was dinner time during Easter week, so big crowds but probably not a prime time that people would be at their resort. It was very quiet and calm when we were there.

It's easy to get sucked in to the thought of sitting in that jacuzzi watching the fireworks in a MK view room, but romance aside, we want an enjoyable stay for the duration. From these posts, it sounds like the upcharge for a great view would not be worth it for our family. Again, thanks!
