Are there ever discounts on DW tickets?

Last year, we took advantage of the 5-for-3 days tickets prices at DL in June. Does DW ever discount their tickets without them being part of a package? We have a room with the QNY code at POR for 30% off and would love to hold out for cheaper tickets but didn't know if they were ever available?

I don't want to do a package even though it would save me $150 (with tix) because I don't like having to pay 45 days before going and the cancellation penalties are much stricter.

Thanks!!

Not usually and even if they did you can't stack discounts. I.E. if you are using the 30% off code then you couldn't also use another code on top of that.

However, if you POR reservation is for room only and you don't want a package then you can buy your tickets from a 3rd party vendor. Some of the 3rd party vendors such as undercover tourist, offer a slight discount on the tickets (but nothing major in my opinion).

Yes I only have a room-only. I wasn't sure if there were reputable vendors to buy tickets from except for DW so I'll check that out. I guess it won't hurt to wait until the last minute to buy tickets if I'm buying them at DW anyways. Thanks!

but if you want to get your tickets from undercover tourists (I get mine from them) it saves you even more go to mousesavers.com and sign up for their newsletter. When you get the newsletter (she always sends one out on the 15th so hurry!) and click on the undercover tourist link in the mousesavers newsletter you save even a few more dollars. Word of advice on this... if you are going to buy from the special link, don't linger too long before you make your purchase or it reverts the price back to the regular UT price not through the mousesavers newsletter link. I noticed the difference when I got my bill the first time I ordered from them and they told me that I must have had the link open too long. They did refund the difference but now I just do all the looking and thinking that I want, close out the link and then open it again when I'm ready to buy.

Thanks for that tip especially because I usually have 4 or 5 windows open checking prices back and forth!

I second signing up with Mousesavers. We used the link for UCT through them in 2008 and were happy with how quickly we got our tickets and their service.
From what i've read, if you are staying onsite, you can have these tickets added to your KTTW as well.

Thanks for posting this because I was curious too. Does anyone know the discount from UT? Is it a percentage? How far in advance do you have to purchase?

Not sure of the % off but I will say to be sure when comparing ticket prices that you consider the sales tax in your calculations. UT prices include tax and shipping.

As far as your second question goes...we purchased the tickets for our Thanksgiving trip in late July, just before the last price increase. Since ticket prices have gone up every year (in August) for the past several years, I was trying to avoid two price increases.

You can purchase in advance and the tickets will be good when you use them.

Thanks TerrytownGrl! I didn't realize the timing on those ticket price increases. Good to know!

Thanks for this info, this has happened to me a few times.

If buying tickets, you need to order at least 10 (???) business days before you leave. The timeframe is listed on the website. Very reliable and quick service.

Is this the same thing as getting a code through mousemisers?
