Are there ever discounts on Deluxe rooms at the Wilderness Lodge? (m)

Like pin codes or free dining or general discounts? Or are the concierge rooms not part of the regular discounts?

My husband has his heart set on the Wilderness Lodge, and we are a family of five. $$$ - so we'll definitely need a code of some type...

I don't think they discount the deluxe rooms. We had booked a deluxe room for our May 2009 trip. When the 4/3 deal came out we switched to the Poly because the deluxe room wasn't included.

We've priced a deluxe room at WL with a code and it worked fine in the last few months. Probably depends on the code and offer, but it does happen. Keep checking with public and/or pin codes.

There are discounts on club level rooms but they are extremely limited. I have gotten this discount at WL and AKL and even received a free upgrade to CL at WL after booking a standard view room. In any case, when trying to get a discount on CL, do this when checking in.

This is how I've had my luck in the past: I book a standard view room and get 40% discount codes usually via my AP or bounceback. When I arrive I ask if there are any CL rooms available. If they say yes, they will take the difference between the regular price of the room (not the discounted price you paid) and the price of CL upgrade and make you pay the difference (this is what I have encountered during last 4 upgrades, but YMMV). I've had 100% success with this method, however I only go during Value season. Since DD5 has now started school this year, we are being forced to go during peak season so I may have to develop a new plan of attack.

Club Level with a pin or discount code is usually available if you book early. I, however, have never seen the WL Deluxe rooms on a public discount code. I don't know about getting one with a PIN code as we've never tried.

We had a PIN for 40% off and have booked a deluxe room at WL. Our travel agent called them and was informed that those rooms are not discounted because they are unique to the Lodge.

I was SO disappointed....but we really want that type of room, so I guess we will have to hope for some other sort of offer. Paying full price is disappointing me, but this is our "dream" trip, and we weren't going to change it because of the PIN.
