I am trying to organize a family vacation involving our 2 children with spouses and 4 grandbabies. Being that the babies will be under 5 when traveling I have heard that trying to get a bus from ASMo to or from MK is terrible. We will be staying there in January. Can anyone help? :jumping1:

thanks so much in advance, gramma :earboy2:

We've stayed at AllStar 3 times, POR once and S/D 4 times and in my opinion AllStar gets the largest volume of busses for all parks. Some times there will be more than a bus load waiting to board, but another comes along much quicker than at the others. Others may have had a different experience.

The bus ride to MK is the only manditory ride we take when we have a car with us. it'll be fine.

They do have a lot of buses running back and forth, but we found when they kept coming to pick us up at ASMo, the bus was already half full and it took 3-4 to finally get us picked up. I guess it depends on when you go as well!

we usually go in the summer and of course they are busy. couple of times we hae gone in Oct. no problem at all. i think your time of year you should have no problems, you guys will have a GREAT time.............

When my family stays at an all-star resort we always choose sports. The reason is that it is the 1st stop on the bus route (then music and movies is last) and you are more likely to get a seat on the way to the parks. It is also the 1st to drop off at the end of a long day. For that reason alone, sports is the way to go. :wave2:

Can you simply walk to the bus stop at Sports to avoid the problem of the bus being full?

It is quite a hike from movies and depending on what section you are staying in at music it is still very far. You would be better off just using the dedicated bus stops for movies or music.

We have stayed at Sports a couple of times recently and the bus service was fantastic! NEVER a problem getting to or from MK, not even once. On our last trip we had a rental car but after the first day we just left it in the resort parking lot--the buses were so much easier, especially to MK.
BTW we have two small kids, diaper bag, stroller(s) etc. and it all worked out fine.

The only place that was hard to get to/from was Downtown Disney--the buses seemed to be always packed beyond belief. To all other destinations there was always room, especially since we were at Sports which gets picked up/ dropped off first.

I too choose Sports for the bus service over music or movies

The worst bus service I ever had was at POFQ many of our waits leaving the parks for afternoon break and returnin to the parks after break was an hour long. At DD we waited almost 90 mins to get back to POFQ. So then we tried the boat to DD was not to bad goin to DD but our return trip very very long line and the boat didn't hold near enough ppl so it was just as bad as the bus.

I hate that All-Stars always get a bad rep for bus service. Staying at Poly or CR is not always a picnic when it comes to busses either. CR, Poly, and Grand Floridian share busses for MGM, AK, and DD. At least All-Stars are right next to each other. We've stayed a lot of Disney's resorts. They all have good and bad things about them. When we stayed at AKL last April while waiting for the bus to leave MK, we saw 5 buses for All-Stars while still waiting for one AKL bus. But on our way out of MK we always stop by the bakery for a treat and enjoy while waiting for the bus. Keeps DD12 occupied. Just found a site that has Disney Trivia so I'll be printing that and asking the questions to pass the line time.

I'd rather be in line waiting for a Disney bus than a traffic jam on the way to work.

We have stayed at Music a couple of times and have never had a problem with busses being full when they get there. There are usually people on the bus staying at the resort so they are getting off, thus making room for others.
